Hi, welcome to Mass Effect Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Commander Shepard page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Tullis (Talk) 02:16, May 31, 2009

Garrus Edit

The quote you linked to was not the quote that was being described in the article. If you talk to Joker after any mission that you have Garrus as a squadmate he says something different, not the mission after his recruitment. It is a different quote. Lancer1289 01:55, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

--After replaying that conversation, my apologies here. Blame sketchy memory on my part. Dibol 03:32, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

As to undoing the rest of the edit, it was all valid. The quote, since my summary was cut off, is "his butt", so that was wrong. Garrus was always a little lost in his life, so "even more" is very appropiate. Grammar: If a word ends in s and you are making it posesive, there is no need to add 's becuase that is wrong. Vulnerability: Garrus has always been a little vulnerable, so again "even more" is approipate. The edit was also full of grammar problems so undoing was valid. Lancer1289 03:40, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

-- Actually, the 's was necessary, since Sidonis is singular. The only time it's okay to end things with an apostrophe is if the word is plural (i.e. others')Dibol 03:46, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

No it isn't. Any time a word ends in s, just adding an ' is ok. While yes it is common for words to end in s to be plural it is the same for singular nouns as well. At least that is what every english teacher has drilled into my head since 1st grade. Acutally my professor said something about this yesterday in class and he said the same thing. Addendum: If you looked through Garrus' article, you would notice the same thing as Garrus also ends in s. Except for one mistake which I just found. Plural or singular, s' is ok. Lancer1289 03:55, July 2, 2010 (UTC)
Addendum 2: In Lantar Sidonis' article as well, there is a mention of Garrus' team, just like that. Plural or singular 's is ok. I would ask you to stop making incorrect grammar edits before I have to report you. 03:58, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Uh, no, it is not incorrect. Taken from grammarbook.com

NOTE: Although names ending in s or an s sound are not required to have the second s added in possessive form, it is preferred. Mr. Jones's golf clubs Texas's weather Ms. Straus's daughter Jose Sanchez's artwork Dr. Hastings's appointment (name is Hastings) Mrs. Lees's books (name is Lees)

Preferred = optional. Every paper I have written in high school and college, my teachers and professors have marked things like that wrong siting that it is incorrect grammar. My professors have stated that there are different rules governing englihs and each of them have stated that s' for singular nouns is ok. Frankly I am willing to trust my teachers over a website that says preferred, which equals optional. Lancer1289 04:04, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

I've had teachers in my high school and college saying otherwise. I brought this issue up with Tullis for feedback purposes. For now, I'll leave the page alone.Dibol 04:09, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

For what it's worth, the Associated Press Style Guide recommends no "s" after the apostrophe for cases like this. PhoenixBlue 06:09, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Just a quick heads up: Edit

Tullis is on a bit of a hiatus, and has been since January. She has not been active on the wiki, nor has she answered questions or responded to messages on her talk page in that time, and has repeatedly expressed dismay at the fact that people have been disregarding this and posting comments on her talk page. I just figured I'd let you know that you are not likely to receive a response to your post in the near future. SpartHawg948 04:14, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

M-23 Katana acquistion (ME3) Edit

Let me clarify in something that provides more space than an edit summary--the Katana is automatically given to Soldiers and Vanguards at the beginning of Priority: Mars. If you were playing either of those two classes, regardless of import or DLC, you get the Katana as a weapon. Trandra 05:21, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up Trandra. I will update accordingly. Dibol 05:23, May 13, 2012 (UTC)
