Now that Mass Effect 3 has been out for over a month, we've all had some time to really get to know it. So, here's a simple question about your actual gameplay experience that (for once!) has absolutely nothing to do with the ending.
With all the balances to the weapon system in the 3rd game, there really isn't a single "best" weapon for a given class anymore. Out of curiosity, did your favorite weapons from ME2 still hold your fancy? Did the new guns sweep you away? Or did an old gun get improved so much you found yourself using it?
In the second game, with my Infiltrator, I went everywhere with the Widow, Locust, and Phalanx, and all three got pretty heavy use. With that same character in the third game, though? I always, ALWAYS used the Valiant, and instead of an SMG, I had a full rotation of assault rifles (Valkyrie, Avenger, Mattock) before I settled on the Phaeston. Pistols never even got touched after the Mars mission. I've since played around with the Black Widow/Eagle combination, but that's only been for the second playthrough.
On the multiplayer front, I've fallen in love with running a power-heavy Engineer armed with only an upgraded, recoil-compensated Avenger. Sometimes I'll use my old buddy, the Locust, but as far as I'm concerned, the only gun I've really needed was the one they started me with.
So, Internet, what's been your experience with all these newfangled weapons? And if you've gotten to play around with the new Resurgence guns in multiplayer, let us know how that's worked out for you (I've only gotten the Kishok so far, and I rarely snipe in MP).
