So I've recently downloaded and played the Mass Effect 3 Demo. First off, I have to say I'm quite impressed. Mass Effect 3 has improved upon the formula of Mass Effect 2. I can't really speak for the RPG elements, since the Demo is quite short and focuses mainly on the combat. On that note, I tried out all the classes.

I felt like the Soldier really hasn't changed a whole lot, which is actually a good thing. They're still the best with weapons, and Adrenaline Rush is still a handy tool, if not quite as strong as it was in Mass Effect 2. Ammo Powers are a little bit weaker, but the guns feel stronger, so it kinda balances out.

Their Tactical Cloak has been improved so flipping much. It can even be improved to let you launch another pow…

After a long stint away from Mass Effect 2, and since I put in my pre-order for Mass Effect 3 on EA's Origin store, I figured it was about time to play through as an Infiltrator. I'm hoping to make this one my "true" Sheppard, the one who's story I continue and complete in Mass Effect 3. Unfortunately, I don't have Mass Effect for my Xbox, so there are some choices from the first game that I'm going to miss, but I'll make do with that. After all, PS3 players missed out on the first game and have only Genesis choices to affect their story. If they can put up with it, I can to. So naturally, I started up the game, and once again felt the impact of watching the first Normandy being destroyed. That still gets to me.

    Genesis Choices:

I was on FIRE yesterday... well, literally a couple of times in the game, but that's something else. I picked up right where I left off, right after Horizon, and did some running around, some more scanning, some more side quests, then I started up the batch of Loyalty Missions I had, with Garrus first (I was near the Citadel at the time.)

    Mission - Garrus Loyalty

    Equipment
    Pistol - M-5 Phalanx
    SMG - M-12 Locust
    Shotgun - M-22 Eviscerator
    Heavy - M622 Avalanche

(Ya know, looking at this, it makes me think I like the number 2.) Party - Garrus, Jack

I was a loving this mission. So many places to hide behind, which meant so many places to retreat to after a successful (or failed) Charge. It went by pretty smoothly, all things…

So I took a bit of a break, not only from my Vanguard but from Mass Effect in general. Every now and then you need to do something like that. And it paid off. I felt a lot more relaxed when I started up again, and a bit more confident in my abilities. So I did some more flying around, got the Firewalker side quests done and out of the way, bought some upgrades from the stores, and went to recruit the Krogan.

    Mission - Dossier: The Warlord

    Equipment
    Pistol - M-5 Phalanx
    SMG - M-12 Locust
    Shotgun - M-22 Eviscerator
    Heavy - M-622 Avalanche

    Party - Garrus, Jack

So we started out as per normal, though I finally started using Charge a bit more freely. I even started showing off a little, Charging one enemy to death, turning and firing at another, t…

Not too much interesting this time around, as I only did a couple main missions. I mostly ran around, probing planets and did some little side things. However, I did go through Zaeed's loyalty mission and successfully recruited Jack. No fancy form up this time, as I think I've finally gotten the hang of playing a Vanguard (and no one was giving me helpful tips anyhoo.)

On Zaeed's mission, I actually followed the paragon route this time, saving before I did, and to my surprise, I had enough Paragon points to charm him into loyalty. My only problem was a YMIR Mech that managed to trap me in a side room. Thank god for the Avalanche, it stripped that thing's protection down and froze it solid.

Jack's mission, oddly, was a piece of cake, tho…
