Leviathan of Dis

Anyone curious to see if Leviathan in the new DLC is related in any way to the Leviathan of Dis mentioned in the games/lore? I ask this because I was playing ME3 last night and encountered Balak again after I finished Priority: Citadel II. I knew he was going to show up, but because it had been a while since I've played the single player, I forgot Balak mentioned the LoD.
