Vidya History Edit
sperez2012 started playing video games beginning with Yellow Version when he was 5 years old. For the next 11 years, he would be confined to handhelds, excelling at Mario Kart, completing The NEW Super Mario Brothers 100%, and becoming a Pokemon Master at each generation of Pokemon. It wasn't until he was 16 that he received his first console: an Xbox 360.
The Dark Age Edit
For the next year, sperez2012 confined his game library to Call of Duty. He was swiftly degenerating into a fanboy of CoD, rarely playing other game than Black Ops. While he was an above average player at it, his eyes did not open about the lackluster series until "Modern Warfare: 3" was released. Realizing how repetitive the series truly was, and how everything in Multiplayer was still unbalanced, sperez2012 still desperately clung onto the belief that it was still a superior game series.
For his most recent birthday in 2012, sperez2012's friend bought him Mass Effect 2. sperez2012 was reluctant to try it, still having his head stuck in the ground about Call of Duty and wanting to reach another Prestige level. Still, sperez2012 felt drawn to a change of pace, and put in the Mass Effect 2 disc. His Xbox felt a little sick, having had no other disc in its drive for several months, but soon after recruiting Garrus, sperez2012 could not put his controller down. He had truly found a game of substance.
sperez2012 finished six playthroughs of Mass Effect 2 within a three month period. The amount of hours put into the Mass Effect 2 equaled the amount of game time he had in Black Ops over seven prestiges- but it had taken sperez2012 ten months to achieve that. He has recently got hold of a copy of Mass Effect, and is currently en route to finishing by the end of the week, (however the abrupt style change from Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 gameplay has caught him off guard and is still trying to fully adjust to it. He absolutely detests the Mako). His goal for the month of July is to play through the entire series as many times as he can because his Xbox is staying home while he attends college.
sperez2012 does not hate Call of Duty. He still likes Call of Duty: Black Ops, but Call of Duty pales in comparison to Mass Effect.
