UNC: Depot Sigma-23

Two Alliance listening posts have been overrun by rachni. After learning both recently received automated supply shipments from this depot, Commander Shepard goes to investigate.

This space station appears to have been assembled from used "off the shelf" civilian ship modules of diverse origins. There are no obvious hull markings, and it is not broadcasting any ID signal.

This assignment is acquired from a terminal on Altahe, after completing the UNC: Listening Post Theta assignment, or from Lt. Durand on Nepmos after completing UNC: Listening Post Alpha. Both must be completed to get the facility's location.

[edit] Walkthrough

After learning that the rachni appeared after an automated supply delivery, travel to the Gorgon system in the Argos Rho cluster and board the Unidentified Space Facility. Eliminate the rachni aboard, and travel through the cargo hold to the front of the ship. In one of the crew modules, you'll find a terminal with a scientist's logs, documenting a plan to 'test' the rachni by unleashing them on local pirates. You will learn that Cerberus is responsible for the rachni infestation after they lost control of the specimens and abandoned the facility.

After listening to the logs you will be able to arm the ship's scuttle system, giving you a limited time to escape from the ship. New rachni will attempt to block your way as you escape in the limited time remaining. If you make it back to the Normandy within the time you will complete the mission.

• The scientist's logs are signed with the name Major Elena Flores, which may be a reference to "Dizzy" Flores from Starship Troopers.
