UNC: Cerberus

Admiral Kahoku has discovered who orchestrated the deaths of his men, and needs Commander Shepard's help.

After completing UNC: Missing Marines, the next time you use the Galaxy Map you will receive a message from Admiral Kahoku. He has information that the ambush which killed his marines was orchestrated by a group known as Cerberus. Kahoku has located three of their research facilities, on the planet Binthu in the Yangtze system of the Voyager Cluster. There are three Cerberus research facilities on Binthu, which must be cleared.

The three Cerberus bases are all similarly built: standard underground entrances with two defence turrets on top. Inside, you will find Cerberus troops - snipers, commandos, and biotic research technicians - working around forcefields in the centre of the room.
These forcefields hold whatever creatures Cerberus is currently experimenting on: two bases hold rachni, one base holds Thorian Creepers. A good technique for dealing with these bases, especially on higher difficulty levels, is to give Cerberus a taste of their own medicine. Get your team to wait in the anteroom, go in low and fast through the door, shut off the forcefields at the closest diagnostic station, and then run back out again. The experimental subjects and the Cerberus personnel will then attack each other, giving you fewer enemies to face or a chance to pick them off while they're in disarray. However this tactic will give you less experience as you won't be making the kills. You can divide and conquer by leaving the forcefield up, killing the Cerberus troops and then take the creatures out (they're not that difficult).
Once you've cleared the area, take time to explore each base. They usually contain medical diagnostic stations which dispense Sirta Foundation armor and various bio-amps, technician kits, or standard containers with decent equipment.
Regardless of the order in which you clear them, Kahoku will be located in the final facility. He was captured and murdered by Cerberus operatives soon after transmitting details of the operation to you. Discovering Kahoku's body will complete the assignment.

Due to a bug, if you enter the same research facility a third time, Kahoku's body will be present there (with no enemies) and the mission will end when you locate it. You can still go to the remaining research facilities to rediscover Kahoku's body again in those places and to gain XP. *(This bug does not appear to work in the XBox 360 version)
