Has anyone considered yet the more conventional means of the Russian word "zorya"(зоря) and the very similar word "zarya"(заря)?

I can list the following:

  • "zorya" is an old military wake-up call
  • "Zarya" means both "dawn" and "dusk".
  • Zarya is the invariable callsign for the Russian Space Agency Mission Control out of Korolev, Moscow Oblast'.
  • Zarya is one of the older ISS modules
And what does Zarya have to do with Zorya. They don't mean the same thing, or are even spelled the same. Any of the definitions you listed have nothing to do with the planet and is just name trivia, which isn't trivia by our definition here. There is no connection, and again "zarya" has no relation because it isn't even spelled the same way. If we listed everything that shares a name, then we would have trivia sections as long as the Sun is in circumference. Name trivia is not enough to justify trivia. Basically, demonstrate a link between the planet Zorya and an old Russian military wake-up call (I'm guessing it's the Russian equivalent of Reveille), and it can get noted as trivia. There really has to be some link before was can add that "___ also means ___ in the ___ language". The reason that mythological names are permitted even if the link seems somewhat dubious or even nonexistent is because current astronomical procedure is to name planets after figures from mythology (hence Mercury, Venus, Mars, etc) So yeah, if a link between Zorya the Russian military bugle call and Zorya the planet can be demonstrated, cool. It'd be harder to demonstrate a link to Zarya, since the planet isn't named Zarya. SpartHawg948 20:26, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

[1] Should something about this be mentioned? Jswartz0181 (talk) 23:59, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

I don't think so. It's likely BioWare was just reusing old elements since they only appear on screen for a very short time. Happens fairly frequently in games. --Mr. Mittens (talk) 00:26, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
