Name[]

Before anyone gets antsy about it, her first name is given in a brief flash of an email in an earlier section of the referenced video.JakePT 17:17, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

She also introduces herself to Shepard with her full name. Flyers215 01:56, March 9, 2012

Replacement for Kelly?[]

Is Samantha the standard yeoman, or does she only appear if Kelly was killed? Captain Baird Comm-LinkService Record 02:00, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

She should be the yeoman regardless of if you saved Kelly. -- Commdor (Talk) 02:05, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
Based on what? That's kind of disappointing if true.--Xaero Dumort 03:21, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
I don't see why the Alliance would allow a Cerberus agent aboard their new ship.JakePT 03:34, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
Didn't seem to be a problem for Joker, Chakwas, or EDI (assuming she's on the Normandy to begin with). Captain Baird Comm-LinkService Record 03:49, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
Well, EDI is the Normandy, and Joker and Chakwas were Alliance first.JakePT 04:23, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
I guess that'd depend on the specifics for Kelly, and how much clout Shepard has. Kelly might not be loyal to the Alliance, but if she's still alive for ME3, then Shepard saved her personally from the Collectors. That ought to induce a lot of personal loyalty to Shep. (Of course, it's easier for the developers to make the new yeoman mandatory, and it's easy enough to just say that the new one came with the ship when Shepard gets the Normandy back...) 24.18.188.10 04:31, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
This is all fine and dandy, but I'm more concerned whether or not Commdor is speaking as an opinion or as fact. If the latter, I'm wondering where he heard/saw it.--Xaero Dumort 05:35, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

When you ask Kelly to return to the Normandy, she says she can't because it would be too hard to be on the ship again because of the memories of the horrors she experienced/witnessed when the collector's abducted them. AbsolutGrndZer0 21:16, March 15, 2012 (UTC)

Romance Potential[]

Can Samantha Traynor be romance by both fem and male shepard? Or Just femshep?

From the video and commentary, it seems she is only a lesbian romance option, not a bisexual one.--Ironreaper 07:46, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

And manshep gets a gay romance with the shuttle pilot, according to that same video.

From the referenced video it mentions "Why don't you give me a call if you'd like to grab drinks in your cabin. I promise a night of fun and games." Could be a similar situation to that of Kelly after the Suicide mission or it could genuinely just be an innocent friendship. LCsoldier89 12:54, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

why doesn't the article say something along the lines of "she is a romance option for a "female" Shepard"? I did add it before and then it was deleted, why? Reptileman778

It has been re-added. There's no harm including that statement in. — Teugene (Talk) 20:24, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

What Does She Do?[]

Hi, Does Samantha function like Kelly? By that I mean does she tell you when your companions wish to speak with you? Just want to be sure 66.214.57.190 09:57, March 7, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, she informs you when some companions wish to speak to you. She also alerts you of your messages and of new missions. Flyers215 01:53, March 9, 2012

Effects on other Romances[]

I can say that after my shower with Traynor, Liara got mad at me, and we are not together anymore. So, it seems that hooking up with Traynor does end other relationships. AbsolutGrndZer0 21:12, March 15, 2012 (UTC)

I almost did it ,but was worried that Garrus would not be happy about it. Glad to know that I made the right decision.--65.191.173.206 14:56, March 19, 2012 (UTC)ExPostFacto

Martha Jones[]

Traynor is based on [Martha Jones][1] from Dr Who. Here voice is distinctively Martha at times, plus approach her from her left side when she is at her post, look up so that you can see the words 'Combat Information Center'. Now you can see it when she looks down and turns and looks at you. 86.149.69.131 20:38, June 6, 2012 (UTC)Tharg

So do you have any evidence to support this apart from a subjective opinion. Lancer1289 20:43, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Only that she looks and sounds like martha.

And that is not grounds for trivia in any sense of the word. Lancer1289 02:38, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Not sure what you mean. However it looks clear to me that traynor was designed to look and sound like martha.

Traynor = Jacob[]

You know what's funny about Traynor? She's almost Jacob's copycat. I mean, is the same attitude, hitting Shepard differently but with the same intent and...she has the same line that can be horribly interpreted - "I need that to relieve stress" - but people seem to be OK with her.

Like Wrex says, women... LOL Brfritos (talk) 02:30, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

This would be more appropriately placed in the Forums. Article talk pages are reserved for discussing article improvement and maintenance. -- Commdor (Talk) 02:33, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
Ouch, sorry about that then, my mistake. Brfritos (talk) 05:37, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
I can't be the only one that's increasingly sick of people discussing 'what talk pages are about' on talk pages, because that's not the use for them either! If anything this does belong here because the article is about TRAYNOR. --2.216.44.219 17:51, September 8, 2012 (UTC)
You're wrong. Talk pages are for discussing the article. Anything else belongs on our forums. --Mr. Mittens (talk) 17:53, September 8, 2012 (UTC)

Can someone fix the Citadel DLC part?[]

I tried fixing up the writing a bit but if anyone could take a thorough look so that the warning above it can finally be removed it would be great. --Zeta1 (talk) 16:15, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Does anyone have an issue with the Citadel DLC portion of the article? If not, I suggest removing the tag. Else, please discuss it here and I'll fix it (if you don't want to do it yourself). Zeta1 (talk) 17:19, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
i'm pretty sure i was the one who ironed up the last out-of-universe bits in that section. what it currently needs is actually an expansion on traynor's actions during the party. with complete accounting for her reactions on the presence AND absence of party guests. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 17:38, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
A fair point, but would that not be more appropriate for the page about the party itself? As far as I remember she did not disclose very much critical information during the party (with her being non-romanced and a male Shephard). Also, how do you have those crazy characters in your username? --Zeta1 (talk) 18:42, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Battlestar Trivia Edit War[]

Admittedly, I don't know much about Battlestar, but that bit of trivia that's being fought over seems really solid. The in-game reference is esoteric enough and contains enough coincidences that I can't imagine it not being trivia. Lksdjf (talk) 10:50, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

As a BSG fan, this seems like a fairly solid reference. -- RandomTime 10:58, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
there are two known instances of backsides lighting up during sex (specifically, the spine) in BSG-reimagined. one is with EDI (aka tricia helfer), the other is with grace park. AFAIK there are no other works of fiction that also present such iconic imagery. the wording probably needed cleaning up since nothing is a straight-up reference without devconfirmation. hence the usage of "MAY".
if there are other works of fiction that feature the "glowing backs during sex" trope, well that's more grounds for proving the trivia invalid. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 11:20, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

The original Battlestar was listed by Bioware as being among several inspirations for elements of Mass Effect. I haven't seen the remake but it stands to reason that with Tricia Helfer being such a big part of it they would reference it in some way. Garhdo (talk) 15:38, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

I support including it in the article. By the way, some of the "back light" scenes can be seen here. A note of warning: there may be some BSG spoilers there. Plus, the song they play is quite naughty (but hilarious!). TheUnknown285 (talk) 17:05, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

This is not a matter of voting. It does not meet the trivia guidelines, and therefore will not be permitted in the article. There are more differences than similarities. Lancer1289 (talk) 18:44, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
It does not contradict the Trivia guidelines either. It is a valid piece of trivia and should be included. Garhdo (talk) 22:00, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
That is completely circular logic. Trivia guidelines do not permit things like this. Lancer1289 (talk) 23:16, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask someone to point out the section that this piece of trivia violates. Lksdjf (talk) 04:52, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
Well... technically it does violate the bit about how ideally trivia items should be no more than a line or two long. But that's an ideal, not a set-in-stone policy. Quite frankly, this seems like a no-brainer to me. It seems like an obvious reference, especially given the Tricia Helfer connection. I fail to see how this is not valid trivia. For what it's worth (which, false modesty aside, is a lot), it has my blessing to be re-added, with one caveat - the "may be a reference to" should be "is likely a reference to". Who knows, maybe BSG exists in the ME universe. (After all, the ME franchise exists in the Dead Space universe!) SpartHawg948 (talk) 10:03, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
Should we also mention that Michael Hogan, the voice of Captain Bailey, also stars in Battlestar Galactica and plays someone (WARNING! MAJOR SPOILER!!) who turns out to be a cylon as well? TheUnknown285 (talk) 10:32, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Not here. Phalanx (talk|contibutions) 10:56, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

In reference to the BSG reference, why do page admins have an issue with the very obvious phrase borrow of "Robosexuality" from Futurama? 96.48.44.52 08:51, June 9, 2013 (UTC)Tucker1011

Does anybody know the scene where Traynor is upset over being shot at? I cannot remember what battle it was just that shepard mentions that Earth was not as motivating as being attacked this time.

Please help?

Drink order trivia?[]

Regarding the Drink orders from the citadel DLC, they are likely a reference to savegameonline's "squadmate cocktails". Possibly a Trivia inclusion? source here: http://savegameonline.com/c3-features/save-games-mass-effect-squadmate-cocktails-the-best-drinks-this-side-of-the-citadel

- 209.6.156.5 17:32, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
That is stretching it at best. Lancer1289 (talk) 17:38, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
This is NOT stretching it. The alleged source is over a year old, well before the Citadel DLC's release, and the some of the named drinks, their ingredients, and the squad members who order them are too exact to be random coincidence. 176.31.226.184 17:48, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think I've seen this drink order scene - video link? Garhdo (talk) 19:48, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Headquote?[]

I notice Traynor doesn't get a headquote for the article, just the romance; can she get a general one too? I looked as well as I could and I can't find the style guide for character pages if there is one. What are the rules for which characters get headquotes and which don't? Ale89515 (talk) 23:36, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

So did finally find a review the rules for headquotes and I decided to add the following quote to this page (verified with subtitles on): "And if flagging your messages and managing strategic intel helps you in any way, then it's worth it." It's not ideal that the line starts with an "and" but I suspect using an ellipsis in its place there would be un-Kosher? It's a pretty good representative quote I feel; as for if her character merits a headquote, I definitely think so as she's a major love interest and even if not she's still featured prominently in DLC and mission cutscenes. And if Kelly Chambers gets a headquote, Traynor should get one. Ale89515 (talk) 21:16, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
