Hey guys, I started this article and I need some help confirming various facts about Rannoch. Firstly was it tropical, because I remember somewhere the mentioning of how it was tropical and that the reason why the quarians where "Hazmat" suits is because of their weakened immune system that allowed various plants. Thats another thing about it, was it true that The plants instead of giving off "seeds" they have a way of spreading the plants by releasing certain airborn "Virus" that was actually beneficial and not harmful for the quarians. Another thing is, just to get my assumption correct, is it in the Perseus Veil and is it worth mentioning the Geth in a whole. Oh and a little help on learning how to sign the end of comments. Who mentions the name of this planet, Legion? Tali only talks about it having no seeds etc. --Tullis 21:52, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Uh sorry Im still learning about this, and well anyways, I havent picked up ME2 so I really don't know so yeah. I found this when I was browsing through the Quarian Section, I just need some confirmation on several facts and some serious help. EryxMahk

We really know nothing about the planet beyond what little Legion, Tali, and the Codex tell us. My understanding is that it is inside the Perseus Veil, which functioned as sort of a border landmark for the quarians, I suppose. I reason that it must be behind the Veil, because the geth (excluding the Heretics) stay behind the veil. The quarians wouldn't have a problem reclaiming Rannoch if the geth did not still occupy it.

I'm looking forward to seeing what's done with the whole quarian situation in ME3. I play hardcore Paragon, and I really hope I can negotiate a way for the quarians to be able to come home. :) Archangelm127 01:14, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

I edited this article to show the correct pronunciation of the world's name. It is pronounced RAN-nokh, with the kh kind of like chaos, not RAN-noch with a ch like church. Legion said kh in a sort of Arabic way, too. PARAGADE74 13:57, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

If this is a tropical planet, it might be worth noting that Rannoch (pronounced the same way as the planet's name, like Loch) is a placename in Scotland. The word comes from Raithneach, Scots-Gaelic, meaning The Fern. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, so I'm not saying it needs to be in the article per say, but I found it interesting.Owlbread 17:09, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

It is probably nothing more than a coincidence, and coincidences are not noted in articles. Lancer1289 17:41, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Indeed, and I didn't say they were or should be. I just thought it was worth noting on the talk page. It's a funny old world isn't it? That the name of a jungle planet would refer to a type of plant in another language. --Owlbread 13:39, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Avoiding War Edit

So one question...based on the info on this page, is there any way to avoid the war? I thought in ME2, based on dialogue and player choices, we'd be able to stop or at least delay the war if you chose the Paragon option after proving Tali's innocence. Or am I wrong? (

We currently have no information on this yet. Lancer1289 00:09, February 14, 2012 (UTC)

Layout Edit

The layout of the page is bugged and i can't find the way to fix it, can anyone ?--DeldiRe 19:01, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

nothing we can do about that since it's straight DPL transcription from the codex entry. looks fine to me btw.
