video of indoctrinated Jack or Legion[]

"If Shepard chose to turn Legion over to Cerberus after its acquisition during the Reaper IFF mission, it will appear here as an enemy. Furthermore, if Shepard did not complete Grissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation, Jack will appear here as an indoctrinated foe. Can someone please direct me to videos of this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPJj8efNskM Here is a video for Jack. Can't find one for Legion. SilentCircuit 15:13, March 17, 2012 (UTC)
1k thanks! :-) 141.70.82.221

So I have to ask, If you sell legion what type of enemy does he become?

Nemesis-like, apparently. Kudos to KingNothing125 for the video and Ibn_Shisha who posted this in the BW forums Bravenu3 09:41, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Space Hamster & Model Ships[]

Quote: "If you sided with Engineer Daniels during her argument with Engineer Donnely, be sure to check the bottom port area where Jack resided in ME2 to catch them "in the act." "

Sided with Daniels, but no such event here. Lachnummer 08:47, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

I sided with Donelly and instead I found my hamster from Mass Effect 2 running around down there. You can capture it and it goes back up in your cabin.

The hamster is running around down there no matter how you deal with Gabby or Ken. Only requirement: importing an ME2 save where you purchased it. Bravenu3

Also, at the beginning of your career and after every priority mission check this area behind the boxes for new model ships. If there's nothing there, check in other compartments where your Mass Effect crew used to hide.

This didn't work when I started a new career (without importing saves from the other games I mean) though, I still had to find the ships at the Citadel shop.
I guess that exactly the ME2 models that were aboard at the end of ME2 appear aboard when importing to ME3. And ME3 models can only be bought anyway. See Model Ships anyway, this discussion should go there as well. Lachnummer 08:47, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

If someone can confirm these findings then please edit them in the Aftermath section of the wiki for this topic.

Third terminal[]

The article mentions the videos on the third terminal with the Illusive Man opting for surgery, but in every playthrough I only saw him talking with Kai Leng. These variations and their prereqs should be mentioned. Btw, anybody got a link to a video with it? Prismvg 13:46, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

It's hard to find. I had to spend about five minutes looking for it. IIRC, it is in a room where a med kit is but I could be mistaken. Lancer1289 18:20, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
I don't understand. You mean there's a forth terminal? Because I know where the third is, it just didn't play what the article says it does, but something else. Prismvg 19:56, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

(SPOILER ALERT) If I remember correctly there's a terminal where they talk about Sheppard's ressurection, then there's the one where they talk about EDI, then there's the one where he talks with Kai Leng, and then there's another one about Cerberus indoctrination research

I don't think the terminals are dependent on previous decisions, because the one about TIM's surgery is instrumental to the ending and to what The Illusive Man (TIM) becomes in order to be able to control the Reapers. I am replaying the game with my "saving Controller base & Renegade" character and let you know what happens (since it's the only decision I see that could affect TIM's surgery), although now that I've learned the ending is ruined and the assets don't really matter, I don't know if I'll do it for certain. --94.195.215.172 02:38, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

Atlas Hijack[]

There's a small window of opportunity for hijacking the very first Atlas at the beginning of the mission. For vanguards, simply charge toward any soldier after landing, turn left to see the engineer run toward his mech, dispose of him before he gets a chance to climb it. Use the mech, carnage ensues.

This trick doesn't work when loading from autosaves, however, as the engineer will already have ridden the atlas by then (no idea why). Recommend restarting the mission if missed the first time. Temporaryeditor78 13:58, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

Kai Leng[]

Consistently the most frustrating and difficult combat in the entire game on hardcore and insanity, and the fight gets two sentences? No tactics, tips, nothing? The one sentence there is happens to be the worst advice imaginable, too: Kai Leng won't summon the next round of backup until all his present backup is dead, so ignoring assault troopers just means you get an invincible, unstoppable kai leng charging into melee range.

I consider this a major omission. I have completed this game on both of those difficulties, and Kai Leng has required 15+ attempts both times. Nothing else have I had to attempt more than three times. For that reason, I am clearly not the person to write said walkthrough, but it baffles me that there is nothing related to that fight in the article.

i always found that odd: one of the most difficult fights getting only a line or two but that fight with the reaper on Priority: Rannoch literally getting paragraphs for what's only three moments of laser dodging.
anyway, kai leng mostly just rushes you or your squadmates for a one-hit-kill while firing with his hand blaster. if caught in his stabbing animation it is possible to break free by mashing the F button (or its equivalent) - this progressively gets harder to do on harder difficulties. every time roughly 1/3 of his shields go down is the time he breaks off to destroy the floor, recharge, and summon mooks: first summon is just assault troopers, second summon contains nemeses, and the third summon contains phantoms (forgot the exact numbers). clear them out completely before turning back on kai leng (although it is possible to kill him first before all the phantom summons were dead). his shields won't recharge fully so the battle may not be as drawn out as one may think.
kai leng's main defense is his shields, so if you're a crack shot with inaccurate SMG's equip them with disruptor ammo and watch it go down. better yet if you go with shield-stripping powers like overload or energy drain: energy drain being the best because you'll be taking fire from a lot of corners and you will want a panic button to instantly recharge your shields. once you strip him to life bar he's ridiculously easy to kill.
these tips may be subjective and may not work for everybody's playstyle so i'll not risk putting this into mainspace. Overkill bug?[]

I was just fighting Kai Leng. While dealing with some Phantoms, I took damage, and was surprised to find my squad had finished of KL's shields, and he was right behind me. I quickly popped him in the face with a cloaked Widow shot. Went down like a bag of rocks.

Then everything stopped.

No enemies. No KL. No cutscene. Just me running around a room, with the only objective being "kill Kai Leng." Anyone else had this? Might be worth adding.220.14.74.120 11:29, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

I read this again and realized it doesn't make much sense, so I'll clarify a bit. I was killing the phantoms KL summoned. I took damage from the other direction, and turned to see KL had run around me, but we (probably EDI) took off his shields. So I shot him, and he died on the spot. When I turned back, the phantoms were gone too (Garrus also had a Widow). KL's body faded away. Nothing happened. I stood in the middle of the room to make sure no one invisible was trying to ambush me, I checked my map for red dots, I ran around looking for...I don't know, whatever. Nothing. Kept playing music and doing nothing. I did this on Hardcore, so there's a very real possibility of it happening especially on lower difficulties. If no one can verify it, that's weird, but if it's real, it could be worth noting. That can be a hard fight and I can see someone being unhappy doing it again.220.14.74.120 09:11, September 4, 2012 (UTC)
this bug, if indeed it is, is incredibly difficult to replicate because it probably relies on many things happening too fast. happened to me just once a few months ago (inadvertently), then never again when i tried to reconstruct the conditions. i'd wager this is not a bug specific to this mission per se, but a general one that can happen if something has a kill condition and a plot-based trigger afterward.
that said, i probably won't be testing this again anytime soon because i'm lagging behind on an ME1 playthrough. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 09:56, September 4, 2012 (UTC)
I'd say it's pretty clear it's a bug :/
But I get what you're saying. If there's little realistic chance of it happening again, then I guess it doesn't really matter. Thanks for verifying.220.14.74.120 05:45, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

Person #641586484652: Happened to me twice, had nothing to do with him, but were both cases of a cutscene directly after an enemy death regardless. Hard to guess what the bug is from but I recall things like this happening thanks to optimization tactics in other games. The kill was confirmed, but the cutscene was not ready, kind of problem I think. ----

Looks as if this bug doesn't occur that rarely after all. I'm currently dealing with Cerberus once and for all, and now that Kai Leng is dealt with, I'm stuck on the Cerberus base without any cutscene or whatever. When you immediately hit this the very first time through the game, IMHO that should warrant for a warning in the walkthrough section.

Fair enough. Made a note. Cattlesquat (talk) 23:24, July 21, 2013 (UTC)

Incredibles trivia.[]

I've just noticed this. Not sure it has a place here for several reasons, mainly that Incredibles is not known to be an influence for the series, and that the room in the Station is very different to the area it is being compared to. Any one want to weigh in? Garhdo (talk) 23:21, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

I'd say cut it. It's very vague and most likely just coincidental. Phalanx (talk|contribs) 23:29, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
Definitely stretching it. I removed it. Trandra (talk) 23:51, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
How did we miss this all this time? Lancer1289 (talk) 02:24, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
These things happen. I only noticed it due to looking at that Daniels/Donnelly piece. Garhdo (talk) 02:48, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Daniels/Donnelly[]

I believe that patch 1.04 changed the conversation cues between Gabby and Ken so that the below-deck conversation happens 1 mission after you resolve the disagreement between the two of them, whereas previously, it would not happen until this mission. (It also wouldn't appear if you killed Ashley on Virmire, but the patch definitely fixed that.) An anon who just edited the page seems to agree with me; I would like more confirmation. Trandra (talk) 23:47, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Aren't patch changes listed on BSN? Maybe we could look there. Garhdo (talk) 23:56, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Their patch notes aren't very specific. There's just a mention of Ken and Gabby's ambient dialogue being fixed. I'm saying they might have unintentionally caused the timing of this to happen earlier than this mission. I've experienced it fairly early in some of my games because I like going down to talk to Gabby and Ken. Trandra (talk) 00:13, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
in that case list in trivia that it used to only occur here, for offline players who may not have the latest patches, but specify that it has been patched and can now happen earlier depending on Shepard's interactions with them. That covers all bases I think. Garhdo (talk) 00:32, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
With regards to this, I will have to check, but I believe that I got the scene before this mission began, right after Horizon or after Thessia. I will have an answer tomorrow since my ME3 disk is packed up for my club tomorrow but I will have an answer. IIRC, I have not started this mission yet. Even if I do confirm it, it will need other confirmation before it can be changed. Lancer1289 (talk) 02:24, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
I do still think a note should be left saying that if the game does not have the relevant patch then the encounter would be here, regardless as to whether we mention that it can take place earlier. After all not every player has an internet enabled console. Thoughts? Garhdo (talk) 02:49, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
IIRC the bug with ashley being tied to ken/gab's romance was fixed much earlier: extended cut. i think patch 4 just made it universal for people who like to be always updated but refuse to have anything to do with the endings :p.
the 1 mission after disagreement resolution caveat, i think i can vouch for that. i don't recall getting people to embrace until here or even right before earth on my early plays, and i know i only got patch 4 for the purposes of being able to wear the alt appearance pack outfits. Fourth Terminal/Benning Explanation[]

In the second entry on the fourth terminal, the scientist talked about the danger of having Cerberus troopers going out of control due to the implants. I suppose the implants would somehow let Reapers gain control of these troops. Would this be a valid explanation for the Cerberus forces going rogue on Benning and abducting humans? 99.185.247.139 08:14, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

No because it is speculation. And in any event the Illusive Man could have ordered it anyway. Lancer1289 (talk) 14:47, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Kai Leng Stab Taunts[]

Would anyone object to adding a note (or perhaps a section) on Shepard's different taunts to Kai Leng when Shepard stabs him (e.g., "That was for Thane/Kirrahe/Miranda, you son of a bitch" or "No gunship this time, you son of a bitch." TheUnknown285 (talk) 13:52, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

put them in Interrupt (Mass Effect 3)#Priority: Cerberus Headquarters. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 14:18, July 12, 2013 (UTC)
I would say that would not be the best place because the taunt is not dependent on whether or not you actually use the interrupt. Instead, it is dependent on whether or not Kai Leng killed Miranda, Thane, Kirrahe, or some combination thereof. TheUnknown285 (talk) 14:30, July 12, 2013 (UTC)
those things still happen during an interrupt scenario which makes them more than legit additions to that page than here. link from here to there is sufficient. and dealt with. Final Prothean VI Convo[]

The article has the information about the final Prothean VI conversation appearing twice. Once in the "Aftermath" second and once just before that. This seems redundant. Which is more appropriate? -- DeJuanNOnley (talk) 15:04, September 21, 2013 (UTC)

Two EDIs[]

I'm curious to hear if anyone else has encountered a rather strange bug which I just experienced, involving two EDIs during the Kai Leng boss fight? Obviously I had EDI as a squad member by default but a second EDI - which I initially mistook for for a Phantom - was in cover close to where EDI appears during the cutscene conversation with the Illusive Man, occasionally turning out of cover to shoot at seemingly nothing. Stranger still this second EDI was wearing her white jumpsuit alternate outfit, while my squad EDI was in the default skin. Any thoughts? Is this a general bug or could it be mission-specific? --Brainsbeer (talk) 21:19, January 21, 2020 (UTC)
