Redirects

I suggest the following searches redirect to this article: "Mass Effect 4," "ME4," "and "MEA." TheUnknown285 (talk) 07:22, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

sure go ahead. it's SEO. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 07:24, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

I've created the redirects for "ME4," "MEA," and "ME:A." I checked and "Mass Effect Andromeda" (with no colon) isn't needed. It would not let me create "Mass Effect 4" due to posting privileges (that page has been created twice previously).

EDIT: Also, I could see the need to add a redirect for "Andromeda," though that one gets tricky as there will no doubt be an article for the Andromeda Galaxy at some point. TheUnknown285 (talk) 07:47, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguaton notes/pages should be enough to cover that when the time comes. Elseweyr talkstalk June 17, 2015, 07:55:28 (UTC)
Okay, as the first result is this page when searching "Andromeda," I don't see the need to create a redirect for that, especially considering it will have to be redone later when the Andromeda Galaxy article gets made. TheUnknown285 (talk) 08:00, June 17, 2015 (UTC)
I've noticed that "Andromeda" no longer takes you here. It takes you to the Andromeda Initiative page. TheUnknown285 (talk) 22:27, November 13, 2016 (UTC)

Characters

We don't know if Pathfinder is the official nickname of the protagonist, but we already know a name of their krogan companion. Do we have enough informations to mention characters?FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 12:30, August 6, 2015 (UTC)

Release Date

As a new release data has been added, is there any reason we would want to keep the previous release date (holidays 2016) in the article? If we want to indicate it has been delayed, maybe that should be indicated more clearly. Randuir (talk) 12:01, March 4, 2016 (UTC)

I think we should refrain from adding a new release date (or period) to the article until it's actually confirmed. From what I've seen, no official statement has been made, nor have any of the pages containing the release date (such as the Twitter bio) been updated. Time Gap

Just a note, according to a E3 special report from a german gaming website 600 years have passed between ME3 and MEA. Should we add this to the Plot section?

Heres the source link PCGamesHardware In the third paragraph:

Original:

[...]"A Stranger in a Strange Land" - "Einen Fremden in der Fremde". 600 Jahre sind vergangen, 600 Jahre im Kryo-Schlaf.

Translation:

[...]"A Stranger in a Strange Land" [...] 600 years have passed, 600 years in cryo-stasis.

Sounds like it could be. I don't know what the wiki's policy is on foreign-language sources, though. TheUnknown285 (talk) 17:08, June 24, 2016 (UTC)

As far as I remember there was no issue with foreign language sources, but during E3 all Mac Walters told IGN was "During E3, Walters told IGN Mass Effect: Andromeda would take place "hundreds of years" after Mass Effect 3" so the 600 may not be accurate, I would advise not including it until BioWare says in something official.--Xaero Dumort (talk) 08:08, June 26, 2016 (UTC)

Ryder Picture

Now that we have a face for both male and female Ryder, perhaps we should add side-by-side pics. Perhaps even add Papa Ryder, too. TheUnknown285 (talk) 14:08, September 17, 2016 (UTC)

too soon. sometime around november, perhaps, or once they've gone all out in promoting the game. they're still building the hype and daddy ryder is literally faceless for now. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 16:06, September 17, 2016 (UTC)

The Ryder twins' names

At this time we know for a certainty that the Ryder twins will be known as Scott and Sara respectively. Does anyone know however exactly how big a role these names will play? Will it be like Shepard and the first name wont matter at all since s/he is always called by their last name - or will they be referred to by their first name by other characters? Dajax02 (talk) 08:17, November 23, 2016 (UTC)

I know I have heard that their names can be changed. Don't have a source in front of me, though. Probably worth adding to the article, though. Also, we don't know if you can only change the name of the one you're playing as or both in a single game. TheUnknown285 (talk) 09:57, November 23, 2016 (UTC)
Exactly what TheUnknown285 said. We're not sure, therefore we can't make cohesive rules about how we will treat their information and wiki pages. I have a hunch that if you pick, say, sister Ryder, that the brother will be named Scott by default, but I don't have any confirmation. I also think that the player character will probably be known as "Ryder" (or maybe "Pathfinder"?) in voiced lines for simplicity's sake. Trandra (talk) 15:47, November 23, 2016 (UTC)

TR: Rise of Tomb Raider inspired

One the devs. publicly admitted the "crafting" feature had its seeds indirectly, in their estimation or positive valuation of that aspect of Tomb Raider: Rise of the Tomb Raider... Might as well mention it...

Please provide a source as noted in our wiki guidelines. Also, this info would be more appropriate in a "crafting" (aka Development) page, if there's one.  teugeneTalkContr 09:09, May 2, 2017 (UTC)

No single-player DLC source

The source listed for there not going to be any DLC is a Kotaku article saying they have "anonymous sources" within Bioware, who has not made any announcements about this. While I believe the article, we're stating this as fact on this wiki despite it being a rumour. Should we remove it until Bioware says something? {{SUBST:Signature/Draevan13}} 11:20, July 4, 2017 (UTC)

Yep, needs to come directly from official channels. Thanks for pointing it out. —Elseweyr talkstalk July 5, 2017, 22:44:09 (UTC)
