Removed the Iron Man trivia reference. It looks nothing like Iron Man's armor, except perhaps that they both have pronounced pauldrons and both have some sort of helmet. Without the same helmet design, intense use of gold or the big glowing circle in the middle of the chest any resemblance it shares with Iron Man's armor is passing at best. --ABCoLD 22:01, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Dude, I'm pretty sure it looks like Iron Man's armor. Mabey not exactly but it's similar. I mean that's a bit of trivia and also I would think that a lot of people would say "Oh, it looks like Iron Man" or "Hey, Iron Man's in Mass Effect 2". Besides I'm sure some people on this site would say it's similar to Iron Man.--Matt-092 01:25, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

It did need to be worded better though. It doesn't look like Iron Man's armor. A replica of Iron Man's armor "looks like" Iron Man's armor. Inferno armor "resembles" Iron Man's armor. And btw, pretty sure nobody has said "hey, Iron Man is in ME2". :P SpartHawg948 02:21, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

This armor is mostly red and black, barely looks anything like Iron Man's armor, it's also pretty scratched up and dark red, compared to Iron Man's shiny reflective red and gold. Jaline 19:20, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Has ironman like eyebrow bits I guess but it seems more like Sith trooper armor.SargeLIVES 05:33, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

...I don't see it. --Effectofthemassvariety 06:52, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

iron man Edit

Hey, I didn't know Iron Man was in Mass Effect 2 ;).

in the picture on the inferno wiki page it looks like IM in the game it does not

Judging from the avatar on Biowares Social forums The Terminus armor looks more like ironman. at least in color. Due to the red outer helmet part and golden face plate.SashaNekosune 10:26, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Equalizer Pack to include this armor, who else is upset? Edit

I got my Inferno armor already, I'm a sucker for all that's Mass Effect, but now I have to pay for something I already have just to get the two helmets? I feel cheated. This should be a separate download for 60points while the Equalizer Pack should be just 100 without Inferno.--Xaero Dumort 19:17, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

You're not alone-I got a thread about it.

Rant thread

Only helmet I even like th look of is the Visor.

I'm rather upset too, I was forced to pre-order ME2 from Best-Buy because Game Stop wasn't offering the Collector's Edition, and the one thing I had unique from 90% of the other ME2 players is now worth $.67 Eive Windgrace 23:43, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

I am very upset about it, in a way. I hate that they're giving my pre-order reward to any tom dick and harry who wants it. If they offer up the Collector Armor, and Weapon I'll be PISSED!--Effectofthemassvariety 21:42, May 5, 2010 (UTC)

Oh it'll all come, my predictions are, 2 new arms/legs + collector's armor/terminus armor and then a weapons pack of incisor + blackstorm + collector rifle. Then it will probably be 2 chest pieces + casual outfit/whole new armor set. SO all in all we can look forward to four more DLC packs probably and 3 more appearance packs.--Xaero Dumort 21:23, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Saw an official post on the boards a while back that the Collectors' armor and weapon are staying exclusive to the Collector's Edition - at least at this juncture. Lost the link, unfortunately. Maybe it's because people who bought the CE paid a premium for the added content, as opposed to the essentially free nature of the pre-order bonuses. Derint 23:21, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Well then I'll edit my predictions to 2 arms/legs/chests + terminus/incisor/blackstorm, and then of course the 3 other appearance packs.--Xaero Dumort 03:01, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
Well it sucks you're upset over this, but I'm happy it came out so I can buy it, and I did. Eddo36 05:12, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

Oh I bought it, don't get me wrong, just wish that it had been done differently.--Xaero Dumort 06:09, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

you didnt pay anthing extra to get the inferno armor so why cant other people have it i could see putting it seperate without the helmets for people who already have it but to say you think nobody else should have it is bsAdmiralmorris 13:12, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

Terminus goodies Edit

I wonder if BioWare is going to release the GameStop exclusive bonuses as paid DLC, now that Inferno Armor is no longer a pre-order bonus. UERD 19:56, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

May be, however we do the Incisor Rifle will be coming, so who knows. Lancer1289 19:59, May 3, 2010 (UTC)
In the above topic, I expressed how irritating it is is that they are selling my pre-order reward. However (and this may make me some kind of hyporite) I really hope that the Terminus set is put out there eventually. The only reason I didn't pre-order from GameStop is cause I wanted the Collectors Edition, and they didn't have it available. I basically settled for the Inferno Armor. Do I think they will release the Terminus Set? Personally, no. Think about it. It was literally exclusive to one single store as a pre-order reward. They obviously felt that the Terminus Armor was something really special.--Effectofthemassvariety 21:42, May 5, 2010 (UTC)
You can always buy the codes from ebay. Eddo36 04:22, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Red Faction possible reference? Edit

216199-parker
The inferno armor looks eerily similar to the armor used by the rebelling miners in the game Red Faction, the very first one for the Playstation 2, released in 2001.

Picture relevant; --The Amazing Gil (talk) 09:16, April 24, 2015 (UTC)

It seems really unlikely, it would need a dev confirmation to add this info as a trivia note. --DeldiRe (talk) 09:49, April 24, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, it hardly looks similar. The original promo image of it for ME2 was likened to Iron Man armor though. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 14:33, April 24, 2015 (UTC)

I d'unno, the very first time I saw the Inferno Armor in game, the /first/ thing it reminded me of was Red Faction. I'm not saying its an exact copy or anything, but I really do think the design was likely inspired. I also can kind of see the Iron Man movie-style armor look some people have noted, but IMO that could be said about quite a few of the compact power armors in ME2 and 3. --The Amazing Gil (talk) 01:23, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

both suits have red in their color schemes and are contoured to fit humans. that's where the similarities end as far as objective observations go. if anything you'll have better luck attempting to compare your picture to 80's transformer body types, but here you'll need properly sourced developer confirmation at the very least to support your claim. It's not a claim, though. It was a speculation; which is why when I started this thread, I called it a *possible reference* not that it was a fact that it was a reference. And you also missed the fact the helmet designs are identical; the color scheme and helmet design are what really brought it to mind for me when I first saw it then compared the two. And if you're referring to when I said I thought the design was inspired by the miner armor, again, that was speculation--an opinion, not something stated as fact.

As for the blockyness of the picture, I'd also like you to keep in mind it is an image from a Playstation 2 Videogame from 2001, compared to a next generation videogame from ten years later. Red faction was a release title for the PS2, Mass Effect 2 was released late into the life cycle of the next console generation. And again, I'm not saying it's an exact copy or claiming that it for fact is a reference or source of inspiration, but that I think--that I speculate--that it might be because of the helmet design and choice of color; which despite being meant for high ranking cerberus officers, does not share the colors of the organization as every other Cerberus combat or casual outfit does. (Black, white, orange and grey.)

tl;dr it's just my speculation i never said it was confirmed truth
