Anyone else amazed at how Project Overlord could turn out to be this much of a disaster, yet Cerberus would do pretty much the SAME THING with technology infinitely more alien and profound in Reaper technology with Grayson in Retribution? I really hope there is some mention of Overlord in the novel. How could there not be? --LBCCCP 15:48, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Interesting point. I guess we'll have to wait until Retribution comes out to actually see what happens with the Reaper tech. However. given that Retribution was written (I'm fairly certain) a long time before Overlord came out, I don't think it'll be mentioned - Bioware and Drew Karpyshyn (the novels' author) make sure that they don't actually mention any specific missions or assignments that Shepard did, because in some players' games Shepard never would've done them. The books exist mostly 'outside' the events of the games, except for plot points that are certain to happen (Eden Prime, Saren's death, Shepard's death etc). Bronzey 05:31, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

It's bad being badass[]

Seeing that poor dude hanging there, crying... damn... that was the first time I felt bad about being renegade... 87.167.44.81 23:43, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

And that is the mark of a good story. :) PhoenixBlue 01:22, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

David's tears?[]

Not sure if I'm just misinterpreting what I'm seeing, but does it look to anybody else that David's tears are white? I know the game's depiction of crying isn't the best I've seen (some characters look like they're leaking oil), but this kinda confused me. Bronzey 02:49, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

They could be white, I suppose. I think it's just a graphical oddity though. As for the "oil" tears that some people have... the only people that have black tears are women in the game who are wearing eye-shadow, so it's appropriate that the shadow would be streaming down their face... making it look like the tears are black. The effect could be better done, obviously, but it's not as inappropriate as you might think. Dammej 03:29, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

Tears can have a bit of a whitish hue in certain light, and there are pretty much spotlights on David at the time. --LBCCCP 15:32, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Change the picture?[]

I was looking at the picture on this page. It doesn't show much in detail.

Given that David appears in his normal state in ME3, I think it would be appropriate to use this version of him instead of a closeup of his face in the Overlord link.

I can acquire a picture if nobody else can, it may take a short while to do so, seeing as I have to go through my savegames and locate one close to his appearance. I made a few in that section though, so it shouldn't be overly difficult to locate one before my squad meets him and play up to that point. --Tilarta 16:03, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

And something like that would go into the ME3 section, not the top. The image in the top must be from their first appearance, and that is in Overlord. Lancer1289 17:26, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

Quote[]

I think the best qoute for him would be his methemaitcal equation or "Quiet! Make it stop!". I'd also suggest to change his picture in infobox on a hologram from his memories or photograph with his brother Gavin, because the curret one is terryfying and spoileric.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 18:40, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

headquote is open for discussion. picture isn't as all other ingame sources are either lowres or inappropriate. The picture contains spoilers, yes. On the other hand, a lot about David involves spoilers. But we can add a picture of his hologram for the project instead. What do you think? --Nord Ronnoc (talk) 01:44, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
strictly speaking that is NOT david. that is the david/vi hybrid. Why not put a picture of it over there? --Nord Ronnoc (talk) 03:04, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
because if you haven't noticed i'm in the middle of a fuckhuge image dump currently sorting everything out. questions like yours only slow me down, so unless you actually have something to contribute about quote selection then recuse yourself from commenting further. Genesis 3[]

What happens with David if you use Genesis? Which ME2 outcome will be used? 98.217.230.157 22:27, June 1, 2014 (UTC)

Incorrect weapon in the weapons room[]

I'm currently running an EGM play-through of ME3, and on Grissom Academy, did anyone else who is running vanilla receive a Mattock and a Sniper Rifle Piercing mod rather than an Eviscerator in the Security room? I'd change the wiki because I think it to be what I've described, but I cant confirm, if anyone else would like to verify and update, I'm just informing them

Hi. I use EGM too. I can confirm that both are an option. But if you have both transferred from ME2, I think neither appear. Pauldarklord (talk) 13:04, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Doctor.[]

The War Asset for Kahlee Sanders in Mass Effect 3 identifies him as Doctor David Archer. Shouldn't we mention this? Pauldarklord (talk) 13:05, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

base game says otherwise and you've just admitted using a modded game. no. T̴̴͕̲̞̳̖̼̱͒͛̎͒ͫ̃ͧeͩ̈̽̈҉͓̝̰̼̦̫̤̀͠m̫̪̪̯̻͎̫̅̇̓̇͌̚p̸̙̝̓̓͌ͨ͆ͣͥ̂̕o͒̽͐̽͏̞̬̻͕͔͕͚̰͍͠͞ṙ̢̞͚͈̹̰ͨ̓ͭ̈́̌ạ̢̧̪̹̺̺̣̹̲͂͆̏ͪͨ͒ͭř̹͈͜͠y̷͍̻̜̹̼̾̽̈́e̵̹̼̟̦͚͐̈́͌͘d͉̲̣̻͉̱͗̅ḭ̷̻̆͋̆̓̔͝t̨͍̦̫̗͂̅̍̋̆ͩ͝ộ̫̟̬̳̝̲̾ͫ̒̿ͮ̑̚rͯ̎ͨͭ̄̿̽͛҉̠̫̱̠̘̘̲́ͅ7̩̻ͤͩͨ͝͡8̜̣̙͇̻ͨ͛͛̆͒̆̽̒͐͜͡ ͥ̍̉̃̇ͥ̓ͨ͏̕҉̥̹͓̗̤̠̖̤ (talk) 13:19, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
One: I do use a modded game. Because you can only play a game so many times until it gets boring. Two: I seem to have misremembered, so I was mistaken. Pauldarklord (talk) 18:20, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

David in ME3.[]

I'm playing ME3 with my imported ME2 Paragon Shepard. I saved David back in ME2, but he's not present at Grissom Academy. Why?

Are you playing Legendary? PC or console? Anyway, I'd recommend posting on a Forum first about this issue as Talk pages are primarily for discussing edits to the page; if you can eliminate mistakes or other variables and it looks like a definite bug (other people can corroborate, etc.) then post about it here.
