Space stations

Space stations are artifical structures that exist in space. They are most often stationary and have little or no ability to move through space. Space stations may be used for research, trade, or defense. Designed for medium to long term use, they can be massive installations like the Citadel and house a large number of residents or allow large starships to dock.

Humans have built a large number of space stations as military installations as they expanded in the galaxy. Many of these near a nexus or Mass Relay station.
