Sentinel Guide

From Mass Effect Wiki

Sentinels are completely lacking in combat skills but very strong at both tech abilities and biotic abilities. Although Sentinels are great at protecting and healing the party they can also pack a powerful offensive punch. Here are some tips.

Contents

[edit] Strategies

  • Sentinels will want to combine their tech and biotic powers in order to hit the foe the hardest. Combining Neural Shock, Lift and Throw can lead to an effective playstyle.
  • Sentinels are good at leveling up First Aid so make sure you have plenty of medi-gel to keep the party strong.
  • Although the Sentinel only has access to light armor, they can use Barrier in order to absorb any firepower that is thrown at them.
  • Sentinels are good at protecting the party by disabling enemies: use Stasis and Sabotage to keep your party safe and Overload to aid your party in destroying enemies.
  • Overload and Sabotage are very effective weapons against geth, as they tend to have relatively heavy shields and depend on ranged attacks.

[edit] Valuable Squad Members

The most obvious squad members for supporting Sentinels would be Urdnot Wrex and Ashley Williams for the heavy support and protection; Wrex and Williams will also be more effective after the Sentinel debuffs the enemies.

Another effective team member would be a fellow Sentinel; Kaidan Alenko. If you are a Sentinel and you have the Medicine talent maxed out and Kaidan has the Medicine talent maxed out then the effects will stack to a whopping 60% reduction in Medicine recharge time, meaning that you can heal the party every few seconds.

[edit] Bonus Talent

Sentinels lack combat skills so a gun bonus skill would be useful. A Sentinel with a bonus talent of Assault Rifles or Shotguns is a force to be reckoned with. Combining the Sentinel's debuffing skills with a weapon is very effective. Other than that a Sentinel may want to learn a good biotic or tech talent to support the ones already learned.

Adding Singularity will provide additional crowd control.

Of tech abilities, both AI Hacking and Damping have merit, AI Hacking is useful for disrupting enemy geth by having their allies turn on them, and provides a bonus to cooldown of tech abilities, something Sentinels can't get from expanded classes.

Damping is useful against enemy biotics and tech-users, and gives a high bonus to the radius of all tech abilities.

[edit] Specialization Class

The Sentinel gains access to either the Medic or Bastion Specialization classes. Both are very useful, it all depends on your playstyle. A close range Sentinel will find the Bastion class more useful for protecting the party up close with Stasis and Barrier. A longer range Sentinel will find the Medic class more useful for supporting the party with Neural Shock while resurrecting the party members who are fighting at the front line. Either of the two specializations are powerful.
