Rachni Soldiers are slower but much larger creatures than Rachni Workers, with thin tentacles ending in little pods. These tentacles are used to impale enemies - the rachni can use weapons but prefer to use these tentacles to impale their victims. They can also spit acid, causing extremely heavy toxic damage with damage as high as a sniper round. Rachni Soldiers are cunning and like to ambush their enemies. They are most at home in vents and tunnels.

Tactics Edit

Rachni Soldiers can do massive amounts of damage in melee and their acid-spit projectiles, deal high toxic damage that bypasses shields. Luckily, both of these attacks are slow moving and travel in straight lines - strafe often and keep on the move when facing them. Avoid hiding in cover too long as they like to charge and close to melee range; keep at a distance and keep shooting. Biotics are good against Rachni Soldiers because most talents will at least knock them on their bellies for a few seconds allowing you to fill the rachni full of holes.

Some Rachni Soldiers can be encountered while you are in the Mako. This makes them very easy to take out but since their spit bypasses shields, they will cause hull damage to the Mako, so keep moving and keep your distance. Killing them from the Mako is easy, even if they are in groups, shoot the main cannon in the middle of them, that will knock them on their bellies, then use the machine gun to take them out.
