You wandered off the beaten path and something in the middle of nowhere seems to have disabled the Nomad. A scavenger named Hardy, who just happened to be around, claims he can fix it.

Acquisition

Head north-northwest of the Forward Station in the Sea of Ataraxia in the Nomad.

When Pathfinder Ryder gets close to the location for the start of the mission, the Nomad will have electrical arcs course over the surface of the vehicle for the first indication that the mission is getting close to starting. Continue driving and the Nomad will have additional electrical arcs over the vehicle body then break down.

Warning: Until the Nomad breaks down completely, extraction will still work, and the Nomad will continue to function as long as Ryder doesn't drive back to where it started to break down. HOWEVER, it is ill-advised to leave this area until the mission is complete. There are issues with Fast Travel and Extraction that can show up if trying to leave before this mission has been fully triggered. This mission is very short and can be quickly completed.

Walkthrough

After the Nomad breaks down, Pathfinder Ryder hears over comms from Kallo Jath that Gil Brodie is working on one of the Tempest's thrusters, and the ship won't be able to fly for a while, so extraction is out. Fast travel is also disabled.

The first objective is added right after the conversation ends.

Investigate For Signs Of Life

This objective is added and completes the same time as the mission is added. The next objective starts right away.

Speak To Hardy

A scavenger named Hardy calls over the comm and tells Ryder that he might have just the part Ryder needs. A navpointMEA Tracked Objective Map Icon is added not far away from Ryder. The exact direction will depend upon where the Nomad broke down but tends to be north and/or west. Head to the navpoint to find a small camp with a large tree.

Hardy comes clean almost immediately. He's been preying on passing vehicles with an EMP generator which disables their engines, stripping the vehicles for salvage and killing the occupants if they resist. He would have attacked Ryder too, but he was pretty sure he'd lose. Instead, Hardy is willing to sell Ryder a replacement for the fried circuit board.

The options are to either pay 500 Credits for the circuit board or kill hardy and take the board from a nearby shipping crate. (There are no known consequences for either choice. The rewards are the same.) Note: If Ryder can't pay, the fight happens automatically.

If Ryder chooses to kill Hardy:

Kill Hardy

Hardy is a simple Raider enemy and should go down easily.

Get The Part

A nearby Shipping Crate can be interacted with to obtain the part. Ryder can now head back to the location of the Nomad MEA Nomad Map Icon with the new part.

If Ryder chooses to buy the part:

Start Up The Nomad

Return to the location of the Nomad. Enter the Nomad, the part will be installed automatically, and everything with the vehicle will return to normal. The mission then ends.
