A barred spiral galaxy, with between two and four hundred billion stars, the Milky Way is the galaxy we live in and the setting for Mass Effect. In-game, you will explore many systems and planets as listed below in a bevy of story driven missions and optional assignments, across the mass relay network.

You're able to explore the Milky Way once you get control of the SSV Normandy at the Citadel. From there you command the ship and navigate via the Galaxy Map, located in the center of the Normandy's command deck.
