Inferno Grenade
Talk6this wiki
Inferno Grenade is a power in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. It is Zaeed's fourth power and is unlocked after completing his loyalty mission. It launches a volatile grenade that explodes on impact, sending damaging fragments flying in all directions. This fire damage is effective against armor, doing twice the damage. It should be noted that Inferno Grenade can also damage squadmates.
Note: This power travels in a vertical parabolic arc towards the target, like a grenade.
Note: As with all projectile powers, the power does not launch an actual projectile when used by a squadmate. Instead, it impacts instantly. In Mass Effect 2, if there is any cover between Shepard (not the squadmate using it) and the target, the power will strike the cover instead. In Mass Effect 3, it will always hit the target.

Player Notes
Edit
- Inferno Grenade is one of very few powers that work reliably against enemies behind cover. Enemies that can be panicked by fire step out of cover for a period of time.
- The panic effect works through protection and is significantly longer than the usual stagger effect of using other powers against protected enemies.
Availability
Edit
- Shepard via Advanced Training
- Zaeed Massani (Loyalty Power)
Mass Effect 3
Edit
In Mass Effect 3, grenade powers no longer have a recharge time and, thus, can be used immediately at any time, provided grenades are available. Using the power consumes 1 grenade each time.
Note: Inferno Grenade deals 1.5x damage to armor.[1]

Player Notes
Edit
- Mechanics
- The rank 6 Radius & Shrapnel evolution's addition of 1 shrapnel is bugged so that the shrapnel does not actually do anything. However, the additional shrapnel's overall intention was mainly visual, so the intended effect is in fact just the range upgrade.[2]
- Enemies set on fire by Inferno Grenade can be detonated with a power to cause a Fire Explosion.
- Strategies
- Grenade Capacity is a very useful gear attachment to take, it gives 1-5 grenades and can greatly increase your ability to literally lay down fire on the enemy.
- The Inferno Grenade is powerful, but only over time. Bear this in mind as while the enemy is much less likely to shoot you when their health is exposed, said foes can still get the odd shot or two off, and shielded enemies will not panic until their shielding is gone, making you very vulnerable to a counter-attack. To compensate, a simple "Hit and Run" tactic can work very well, or even taking cover after throwing a grenade will reduce the likelihood of you being hit when the enemy is burning.
