Kadara needs clean drinking water — streams and lakes are toxic and filled with sulfuric acid. Remnant technology could transform Kadara's water supply, but the monoliths around the planet must be activated to begin this process.

Acquisition Edit

This mission is added to the Journal when Pathfinder Ryder gets close to any of the three monoliths on Kadara.

Note: The monoliths can be activated in any order.

Activate Monoliths (0/3) Edit

Eastern Monolith

The Eastern MonolithMEA Monolith Map Iconis north of Kadara Port. Approaching the location will start an objective to scan Glyphs.

The Outlaw Monolith Edit

Scan For Glyphs (0/3) Edit

Find two glyphs are scanable from the ground and one requires climbing up some rocks to reach. They are the Adherence Glyph, Entropy Glyph, and Zero Glyph.

Climbing up some rocks to one of the glyphs, there is an Adaptive Remnant Core Device to scan for +100 Rd icon remnant orange. There is also a container that can be looted.

Activate The Monolith Edit

After scanning the three glyphs, interact with the console to activate the monolith. Solve the puzzle to activate the monolith. For the puzzle console solution, see here.

Western Monolith

The western monolithMEA Monolith Map Iconis accessed through a canyon like crevice from the west in the Sulfur Springs region. Ryder will find a group of angara fighting Outlaws. Approaching the crevice will start an objective to scan Glyphs.

The Outlaw Monolith Edit

Scan For Glyphs (0/2) Edit

Find two glyphs (scanable from the ground). They are the Hydrodynamic Glyph and Nihility Glyph.

Activate The Monolith Edit

After scanning the two glyphs, interact with the console to activate the monolith.

Ryder can speak to the Local Angara after the fight but this conversation doesn't get Ryder anything.

Southern Monolith

The southern monolithMEA Monolith Map Iconis accessed from the east through a cave in the Draullir region. Entering the cave starts an objective to scan Glyphs. Ryder will find a trail of Observers riddled with bullet holes on the way into the cave. Raiders with a Hydra have to be eliminated.

The Outlaw Monolith Edit

Scan For Glyphs (0/4) Edit

There are four glyphs to scan in this area. The four glyphs are the Interval Glyph, Kinetic Glyph, Semiosis Glyph, and Thermodynamic Glyph. Three of the glyphs can be scanned standing on the ground; the fourth is in the previous "room" in the cave.

Activate The Monolith Edit

After scanning all four glyphs, interact with the console to activate the monolith.

Investigate The Vault's Entrance Edit

A navpointMEA Tracked Objective Map Iconwill be added once all three monoliths have been activated. Travel to the vault location located southwest of the Forward Station in the Haarfel region. Open the door and take the gravity well down into the vault.

Activate The Vault's Emergency Power Edit

Use the Power Console on the elevated platform. Ryder can jump down below the elevated platform and scan an Adaptive Remnant Core Device for +100 Rd icon remnant orange.

Remove The Vault's Lockdown Edit

Use the three consoles surrounded by bubbles to open the door into the vault.

Warning: Entering the bubbles to activate each console causes damage to Ryder's Shields. Once each console is activated the damage will cease.

Note: The big console is used when Ryder is escaping the vault.

Go down to the hexagonal platform.

Note: There is a console on this platform, but the player doesn't need to use it to attain anything in the vault.

Jump up on the pylons to the right. On an elevated outcropping, there is an Adaptive Remnant Core Device to scan for +100 Rd icon remnant orange.

Use the bridge to go to the north side.

On the platform is a barrier-locked room with rem-tech Ryder can pick up during the escape. SAM sets a navpointMEA Objective Map Iconfor it.

The Puzzle To The West

Follow the path to the west. Jump up to the topmost ledge and use the console to unlock the door. Before entering the door, to the east Ryder can jump over to a hidden area to collect a lootable container and there is a Stratospheric Glyph that can be scanned. Jump back over to the doorway and enter.

Inside is a Destroyer, some other Remnant forces, and a turret in the far end of the room. Ryder can use a nearby console to make the turret friendly to fight the Remnant forces.

On top of the pillar in the center of the room is a puzzle-locked console (needed for the Cryptographer Achievement). 2 skill points are rewarded for solving the puzzle. For the puzzle console solution, see here.

The Remnant Data Core

There is a Remnant data core up to the north. Open the door and go into the room. Inside is another door that is locked. Activate the six nearby consoles in the same order as the glyphs that are shown on the door. It will then be unlocked. Inside is a Remnant Data core for Task: Remnant Data Cores, and there are three Adaptive Remnant Core Devices to scan for +300 Rd icon remnant orange. There are also four Data Patterns than can be scanned on the ceiling of this room but they serve no function.

Unlock The Locked Room To The North

Walk to a point where Ryder can see the locked door to the north. Use the scanner to see the line in the air from the door to find the console that unlocks it. Jump up and activate it.

If Ryder continues along the ledges to the southwest, there are some containers on the ledges.

Getting To The Core Of The Vault

Ryder has two options to get to the northeast and east area:

  • Return to the first hexagonal platform and use the console. Platforms rise from the ferrofluid, and jumping between them will take Ryder to point #3. An effect of this is that during the escape - after picking up the rem-tech - Ryder will need to jump down on these platforms to reach the exit.
  • Go to point #1 and jump over to point #2. Ryder will probably land in the ferrofluid. Quickly jump again to get out of the ferrofluid.

From #2 jump up on the ledge. Then jump up to scan an Adaptive Remnant Core Device for +100 Rd icon remnant orange (the jump might take some attempts).

Jump down again and activate the console. Two pylon platforms rise from the ferrofluid. Use them to get to the locked room (now unlocked) and loot the container.

Go to point #3.

Jump up to scan an Adaptive Remnant Core Device for +100 Rd icon remnant orange to the south of the door.

Use the console to unlock the door to the vault core. The door opens, and the platform in the ferrofluid Ryder needs for the escape disappears.

In the core room, Ryder will have to activate the five smaller consoles to be able to use the Purification Console. Remnant enemies will appear when Ryder uses the smaller consoles. As before, entering each bubble causes damage until the console is deactivated. After Ryder has defeated the enemies, make sure to pick up the container to the east in the ring of shields.

Activate the purification console. Note: The Fusion Mod of Rapid Deployment is awarded when the console is activated.

Escape The Purification Field And Exit The Vault Edit

Run out and use the console at #3. Then follow the escape path.

Pick up the rem-tech container on the way out.

Use the Activation Console in the gravity well room to turn off the purification field. Exit the vault.

Aftermath Edit

The sulfur pools are no longer Hazard Level 4 Toxic Environment. The pools now look like unpolluted water and are safe to walk or drive into.
