This page is for discussing a policy related to the Mass Effect Wiki that may or may not be passed by the community. The Form below serves to describe the Policy and what it is about, or what it will modify.
Top of article: This headquote must be from the game in which the character was introduced, and must represent the character as a whole. Meaning if we are talking about Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, the quote must be from Mass Effect.
If the character is present in multiple games, for example, Garrus Vakarian, a headquote can be at the top, and at the top of the section dealing with the other game(s). With Garrus as an example, the article can have headquotes a the top of the article, one at the top of the "Mass Effect 2" Section, one in the "Romance" section, and one in the "Mass Effect 3" section.
At the top of the "Romance" section. This quote must not be a funny line, but a more serious one describing the relationship.
If a character has multiple romance sections, then a headquote is permitted in each one, but the quote in each must be from the game they are about.
At the top of the "Loyalty" section. This quote must be spoken by the character during their Loyalty in Mass Effect 2. It must represent what the mission is about, what is going on, and show the impact the mission is having on the character.
Headquotes may be inserted and changed, but if a change is reverted, then a discussion about changing it must take place on the relevant talk page. However, it is recommended that the initial quote be discussed so there isn't multiple discussions to change it.
Any current headquotes in articles that are not in these specified sections will still be permitted under this policy, but subject to the same rules about changing them out.”
So when we dealt with the Leaked information policy, little did I realize at the time that I set a precedent, and so I'm following it now.
With the passage of the wording of the Headquote Policy, I am opening this page to make this wording officially part of the Mass Effect Wiki's policies with the addition of it to the Manual of Style. Lancer1289 00:28, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
