Other NotesEdit

Ok I tried to do this before the lockdown and ME3's release, but it just fell by the wayside. Not to mention I want to go about this differently this time. Most of the wikis I visit recently have the "Expanded Wiki Navigation" activated, which gives them up to 280 links, rather than the 28 links we currently use. I feel that doing this will help a lot with navigation and therefore I'm looking for input about what should be listed. I think however that first I should explain how it works.

We now get four level one links, the same as currently. We get the seven level two links we get currently. What is added is up to ten level three links below that for specific content.

I have a mock up of things in my Sandbox. Please suggest anything you want to add below or any changes. The sandbox first lists the current system, then the old Monaco sidebar, then the proposed new system. Note that this list is very incomplete and requires work.

Now, I've also discovered we can add additional level one links, with full submenus, but only one or two before we run into problems, depending on the length of the titles. I have no objection to adding them, but we should come to an agreement before we do so.

So thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? Lancer1289 21:44, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Comments Edit

The suggestion for the new layout looks good. I'd add a link for ME3's multiplayer somewhere in there. -- Commdor (Talk) 22:02, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Clarification: this is for the top nav bar dropdowns, correct? And the third level would pop-out to the right when you mouse-over something that has a third level? It looks fine, except that I would suggest that downloadable content be a third level link for each applicable game, rather than second level.
I second Commdor's suggestion for a link to multiplayer (it's weird that there's a link to its DLC, but not MP itself). Trandra 00:54, April 17, 2012 (UTC)
I agree with both comments above. DLCs should go under each respective game in the series and the ME3 Multiplayer under ME3. Personally, the ME3 DLC links should be merged into one, pointing directly to the ME3 subsection instead of splitting it into Single/Multiplayer DLC. I feel it's an unneeded redundancy. Other than that, the rest looks fine to me.
Also, I think there's a typo at "Forum:Policy|Policy Forum3" - with the 3 being out of place. — Teugene (Talk) 06:44, April 18, 2012 (UTC)
