So, do you use cryo blast or cryo ammo? I've always tended to shy away from it just because I like to rely on things that I know will do damage as opposed to "I may have a chance of snap freezing my target". In your opinion, am I missing out by not ranking up these skills?--El expl0siv0 06:26, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
- I've never played a class with Cryo Blast, though it is moderately useful to have on Mordin. As for Cryo Ammo, I don't have that much experience with it, as I usually invest points in other skills. The main drawback is that they only have a chance to freeze your enemies when the enemy has no protective lairs (no shields, no barriers and no armor). They're fairly useful on Casual, Normal and Veteran when the common enemy don't have those lairs, but they tend to lose most of their shine on Hardcore and Insanity when all enemies (even the common "Blue Suns Trooper") has at least one lair of protection. Another problem with the cryo abilities is that they're all buried under other skills. For the Vanguard, Cryo Ammo is buried under Incendiary Ammo, for the Infiltrator it's buried under Disruptor Ammo and the the Soldier it's buried under Incendiary Ammo which is buried under Disruptor Ammo. Requiring 3 Points (6 for the soldier) to unlock it, plus another 10 to master it. My advice is to try them out and see what you think. If you like 'em, keep 'em; if not, then you can always reassign your talent points. Tanooki1432 15:30, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
- I tried using Cryo Ammo (Haven't had a class with Cryo Blast), and because I focus on making things dead instead of just whittling it down, I decided it wasn't for me, particularly given the speed and efficency with which I can put down a squad of mercs, making something like cryo ammo rather unneeded. I tend to use AP ammo almost all the time, and occasionally Disruptor ammo.
