what is the best possible starting point as a male commander shepard?

pre service history? and psychological profile?

on this website it says the best pre service histor is the 'spacer' class and because of that in game paragon bonus is applicable. however in the guide i got for mass effect two it says that the 'earthborn' class has the paragin bonus...

sorry i'm just a little confussed

There is not really a "best" starting Shepard, all you can really have is bonuses to your starting Paragon and Renegade scores.

i.e. Spacer and War Hero will have a high Paragon bonus

While Earthborn and Ruthless will have a high Renegade bonus

This just means that you can fill you Paragon or Renegade bar faster.

You also get one assignment specific to your pre-service history; Paragon and Renegade points in ME1 are easy enough to get that I choose a pre-service background based on which of those assignments I like best. Diyartifact 14:51, October 25, 2011 (UTC)
