I think it would be cool to make new subcategories for Category:Character because it's such a huge category with 304 articles that actually spans 3 pages.

I am wondering if perhaps we added some things with common properties to subcategories it could maybe make it easier to find things people are looking for.

Recurring characters, squad members and unique dialogue were already subs. I just tagged it so they would show up on the first page, it's hard to keep track of categories when they get moved to subsequent pages.

Then also added Adversaries/Races because both include categories of characters organized by that trait.

I'm wondering if people have other ideas for categories we could make and tag pages with. I see some obvious one like Admirals/Captains/Commanders/Doctors/Lieutenants/Matriarchs/Officers/Sergeants/Urdnots based on the page titles alone. If they were taken out of characters and put into subcategories for their rankings we might be able to cut it down.

Something else interesting (though I don't think adding the cat should mean removing from chars in this case) would be Male/Female categories which I have seen on some wikis.

Another could be if characters share surnames and could be grouped into family categories. I don't know an example of this as it's less apparent by alphabetization.

Another is maybe if we could make a Category:Character files because this is what all of page 2 and much of pages 1 and 3 consists of is things starting with 'file:'.

Were these made, I think the entire category could plausibly be viewed on one page and it'd make searching the list very easy. +y@talk 08:40, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
