I was thinking and going over Mass Effect History, the games the books and the comics , and that Banes thread plot is just sitting out there without an answer. So what if Banes was T.I.M's Id before he became head of Cerberus? What if he faked his death after he achieved his rise to power? Put the clues together from the 1st and 2nd game along with the books its possible, thoughts, anyone.

I highly doubt it as we have evidence that he is dead, as in a body. Given the conversations, I can't see how he is the Illusive Man. See Armistan Banes for more on the details. Lancer1289 20:49, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe the body was a fake. The Illusive man has robot eyes. Kahoku winds up dead at the hands of Cerberus. Speculation.--Lx MALEX xl 07:20, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

While I don't agree that TIM's sythetic eyes are an indication of anything relating to Bane's death, I do believe that it's possible TIM and Banes are connected. As stated in Armistan Banes, the secretive nature surrounding the man's death could very well link it to Cerberus, and it is unlikely BioWare would impliment this dead-end mission lead without planning to have it connect to the rest of the ME universe. Could be that in ME3, or in some related novel yet to be released, that both identities are exposed. Very little passed in ME that didn't return in some form to ME2. Emails, news vids, and direct interactions with NPCs met in the first title shed light on their current well-being, or lack thereof. In addition, if at least Captain Anderson is associated with Bates, what's to say that the trail wouldn't pick back up later on?
