It's clear that manufacturer of Avenger rifles is Elkoss Combine, but isn't that the same Volus manufacturer which makes, essentually, cheaper versions of weapons already available? Wasn't it described in one novel at some point, that the buttstock of the rifle bent out of shape when Kahlee Sanders bashed a Cerberus's solder head in with it?

So how come that it's this particular brand of rifles being used, which are essentually copies of actual Avenger rifles made by H&K, instead of actual H&K Avengers or whatever else?

Apologies if it was already asked before, or if I made a mistake and it was not Elkoss' rifle in the novel mentioned. Eudaimonium (talk)

Probably because Heckler and Koch hasn't been a company for a hundred years, and they made traditional ballistics instead of, you know, mass accelerator weapons. Also, fine human workmanship like they did seems to be lost these days. It's a pity the alliance took cheap manufacturing contracts from Elkoss instead of keeping jobs on Earth. ^I meant Hahne & Kedar, not Hecker & Koch, obviously. Although I do fancy G36 Carbine :p But yeah, my point being, since when does Alliance use cheap knockoff rifles and why? Eudaimonium (talk) 21:54, August 11, 2012 (UTC)

Oooohhhh. Right. Yes. Point stands, though: they're too cheap to buy good old human manufacturing. Ctrl alt belief (talk) 08:05, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

^It's even weirder when you consider that Hahne and Kedar is a human company, and Elkoss is Volus owned, half a galaxy away. Quote from wiki page: "Reliable and efficient, Earth-based Hahne-Kedar has become a major supplier to the Systems Alliance military." It would make sense in ME2, since Cerberus is providing the weaponry you use, but in ME3 it makes zero sense to find a Volus cheap copycat rifle on Earth during Reaper attack. Besides, the original red Elkoss Avenger in ME1 is ten times more badass than dull grey looking one we get. They should've at least kept that.
