Forums: Index > Watercooler > An odd Geth question

I do realize that no one will have a solid answer for this question but I want to hear speculation to see if it 'might' be possible. Now the question is do you believe that Geth could be upgraded to 'fake' biotics with small eezo cores or the like, producing the equivalent of Geth Biotics?

geth "biotics" = just like any other machine that manipulates mass effect fields. as the word connotes "biotics" seems to be appropriate to use only on organic entities that can manipulate mass effect fields. to a casual observer however, the apparent effect of a geth levitating some reaper schmuck with its hands can be construed as "biotic" o_O. A very itneresting topic, I have wondered about it too. I bet it'd be possible. I can't see why bioware didn't do it. A geth with warp, or repulse, or something. 87.97.4.182 11:47, February 3, 2013 (UTC)
It would probably be easier for the geth as organics need to go through training whereas a geth could just download the files --Halisme (talk) 21:26, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

Bitter Arron: I would have to argue no. Don't get me wrong the logic is sound but I just can't see the geth doing it. They're a proud artificial race and while they do want to co exist with other races they don't want to conform with them. Biotics is something that Geth would observe and experiment with certainly but I don't think they would jeopardize their racial identity in such a way as to make it a norm.

I wanted to bring up the good old "They don't discard anything because they don't think based on emotions" argument, but now that I'm making a new playthrough of ME2... Legion, and the geth in general, have more personality than they'd like to admit. 62.77.236.197 13:43, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
That's exactly what I mean. Legion is one of the best and most interesting characters in the Mass Effect universe and to the point where we can actually discuss what decisions a fictional character in a video game no less would make, is just a testament to how well written he is. Because Geth are smart, they're not bound by the limitations of being inorganic, they can find new and more innovative ways to combat changes in the universe. But what I also think is interesting is that while they're not bound by being artificial, I think they enjoy being so. Legion relishes answering the big philosophical questions with almost a razor keenness, blasting aside all the jargon and clutter and just using pure logic. Only a robot could do this convincingly, for while an organic would try to use this perspective, he would always be held back by emotion, however slightly. The Geth would not. --Bitter arron (talk) 13:56, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
