So in looking at the trailer/art of Shepard with the backdrop of the Earth with Reapers raining down, I noticed the Reapers seemed to be blowing the hell out of North Africa while much of Europe looks untouched or at least not attacked to the same magnitude. Rather, the Reapers seem to feel the sparsely populated Sahara of Libya, Algeria, and Niger are more of a priority than most of Europe and even nearby African cities. This could be nothing, or it could be a Halo-esque excavation. I doubt Bioware would pull that crap, though; that's what Mars is for. --LBCCCP 01:24, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Maybe they are attacking the Middle East. I read in my college history class that whoever controls the Middle East can control the world because they would have a clear shot at Europe, Asia, and Africa, while at the same time have access to a large amount of fuel. So maybe it's a strategic thing instead of the game designers just putting the Reapers in random places.RiftJargon 04:18, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

What you have to figure though is that the Reapers are going to attack everywhere on Earth. For example, the new Official XBox Magazine talks about Commander Shepard running through Vancouver while the city is under Reaper attack. This would seem to imply that the heavily populated North American Pacific coast is even more of a priority than Africa and Europe, if it's important enough to draw Shepard, the krogan, and the turians (who are also mentioned being in the city fighting the Reapers) there, would it not? Yeah, it was said that the Reapers attack Sea-Couver around the same time as other major regions (I cant remember which were mentioned except for Japan), so I'm sure they are targetting everywhere somewhat equally. I'm only commenting on what seems to be such a heavy contrast between North Africa and all other visible areas in pictures and other media. And it couldn't be because that area was in its night while other areas weren't, because the regions north and south of the visibly decimated area look comparably untouched. Not saying they aren't being attacked, just that they don't look as attacked.--LBCCCP 22:00, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

You have to remember that people aren't entirely helpless gainst the reapers. Richer, better defended countries like those in Europe would be able to hold reapers off for longer possibly even take one down at a strech89.126.44.188 15:26, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

RiftJargon yes if that was today but you have to remember oil, natural gas could have been replace with another fuel source and that would leave the Middle East unimportant to invasion though eventually the Reapers would invade the area anyway. But you certainly right about the Reapers having clear shot at Africa, Europe and Africa if the Middle East is captured.71.184.217.18
