Has anyone else noticed how much weaker Adrenaline Rush is in ME3 compared to ME2:

ME2: Max damage bonus = 140%, Max time dilation = 70%

ME3: Max damage Bonus = 50%, Max time dilation = 45%

This makes the power so rubbish compared to ME2 that (IMO) they have ruined the class as it was by far the most useful of the soldiers powers and yes the soldier can have the highest weapon carry weight but that comes at the expense of the other rank 6 option in combat mastery - Weapon Master: Increase weapon damage bonus by 10%. Increase damage of all ammo powers by 40% (this seems necessary because ammo powers are the soldiers main technique at dealing with Shields, barriers and armour).

You may wonder why I'm so bothered and not just choose a different class, well that's because on my paragon play through Shepard has always been a soldier and it would be like changing a key plot point if he suddenly wasn't.

Thoughts? --92.6.185.250 16:41, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Remember this, the character you play in the ME 3 Demo is level 1. If you import a level 30 character from ME2, you start at level 30 thus being much more powerful. Remember the demo doesn't take into account your progress from ME 2 but the actual game will--Iiams571 03:12, March 6, 2012 (UTC)

Well, from my understanding, the dilation is less, and the duration is longer, so you'll be able to do more damage with weapons that aren't the ridiculously broken Mattock. The Mattock was able to empty a full thermal clip in an Adrenaline Rush. All of the other weapons were lucky to get off 2 or 3 shots. This way, everything is a little more balanced out. I think it'll be fine. I've made use of AR in multiplayer quite effectively against Atlases.

The higher duration is notable at higher levels in ME3, but frankly I think AR needed some nerfing anyway. Even at level 1, it effectively doubled your damage output relative to everyone else, and you could have it on for half the time...it was just too strong, and it only got stronger with more levels. Especially on higher difficulty levels, where classes that focus more on crowd control powers lose out because everything has some degree of armor/shield/barrier. IMO, soldier was the most powerful class in ME2 by a substantial and untenable margin, and seems more balanced in ME3. --FnordCola 04:08, March 6, 2012 (UTC)
