Mass Effect is due to be released on PC/DVD on May 28th 2008. The PC edition of Mass Effect will feature a radically overhauled interface, and include the downloadable episode Bring Down the Sky.
[edit] New Mass Effect Novel!
Mass Effect: Ascension, the second novel in the ME universe by lead writer Drew Karpyshyn, is due for release on July 29 2008. Ascension is reportedly set a few months after the events of Mass Effect, featuring characters and organisations that will be important to the ME universe in the future. Kahlee Sanders is confirmed as a returning character, and according to Karpyshyn, the quarians will also take a prominent role.

[edit] Mass Effect on TV (11/20/2007)
The Sci-Fi Channel will show Sci vs. Fi: Mass Effect, a 30-minute special on the game with behind-the-scenes info and interviews. There is also a sweepstakes to win a Limited Edition Mass Effect game starting on 11/13/2007. Similary, G4 TV's X-Play program will have a 30-minute Mass Effect special on Nov 20.

Mass Effect (and Mass Effect Original Soundtrack in US) will be released in North America on November 20, 2007 in North America, November 22nd in Australia, and November 23rd, 2007 in Europe.

Microsoft Studios announced the Mass Effect Original Soundtrack will be released on November 20,2007 to US retail outlets through Nile Rodgers' Sumthing Else Music Works label www.sumthing.com.

EB Games in Australia sells Mass Effect for the day. According to a rumor they received an email from Microsoft to sell it but it was not official.
[edit] Mass Effect banned in Singapore (11/15/2007)
Mass Effect banned in Singapore because of lesbian sex scene. [1] Mass Effect joins The Darkness and God of War II, which were banned earlier this year. Microsoft has pledged to obey all local laws and norms. UPDATE (11/16/2007) Singapore reverses their decision and the game is unbanned.

[edit] Mass Effect mistakenly sold early in Virginia (11/9/2007)
A retailer in Springfield, Virginia mistakenly sold Mass Effect before its release date. Bioware and Microsoft stopped the early sales before more could be sold. Bioware is strictly enforcing a no spoiler rule prior to release and have threartened community memebers with a total ban. [2]

Microsoft announces that Mass Effect goes gold and Limited Collector's Edition announced. This Limited Edition includes a 36-page artbook, a fiction book featuring a 36-page guide to the Mass Effect universe, and a DVD with exclusive video content about Mass Effect.
