An Initiative citizen with an incurable disease has been awakened from stasis. Track her down and return her to stasis before the disease spreads.

After Ryder has returned to the Tempest after visiting Kadara Port, there is an e-mail from Captain Dunn titled Please see me.

Please see me.

To: Ryder
From: Capt. Dunn

Ryder, please see me on the Hyperion deck to discuss a sensitive matter.

Acknowledge the e-mail to receive the next objective.

Meet with Dunn on Hyperion's Habitation DeckEdit

Captain Dunn contacts Ryder over the comm immediately upon arrival on Nexus asking for a meeting on a matter she doesn't want to discuss on open channels. In case you have forgotten to check the mail box this is another way to catch your attention.

Speaking with Dunn reveals that one of Harry's medtechs has smuggled a relative on board the Nexus and recently awakened the person from cryo stasis. The relative is carrier of a rare contagious disease, that yet hasn't come into its later stages where it will become viral.

Dunn wants to keep the matter secret to avoid a public panic, and has not informed Tann or anyone else. She asks Ryder to handle the problem discreetly. For more information Ryder should speak with Harry.

You receive 530 xp when the conversation is over.

Speak with Harry in the cryo bayEdit

Dr. Harry Carlyle can supply Ryder with in depth details on the issue. The medtech Charlie cheated the screening process to sneak his aunt on board and woke her up recently.

The disease TH-314 has three stages and is deadly and highly contagious in its final stage. It's airborne and jumps between species. There is no cure. If she manages to get off the Nexus, the situation will be very bad and she might infect the angaran people.

Harry gives SAM access to files concerning the matter of Ruth Bekker.

Speak with an immigration officer in the docking areaEdit

The immigration Officer has met Ruth. Her station access was initially restricted to the Commons area, and after some time the restriction was lifted.

Search for Ruth Bekker's previous locationEdit

SAM can track her moves using her biological signature. Use the scanner to find where she has been. SAM will let you know when you are on the right track.

Ruth was using a nearby terminal searching for her nephew. Next she was trying identify a plant type, reasons unknown. She has been walking near the Vehicle merchant. She was also trying to get access the tram, but access was denied. Another spot is at the entrance to Vortex. The final location is inside Vortex, where she received a message from the Immigration Officer that her access restriction has been cleared.

Where did Ruth go?

Gather information at the Vortex in the Nexus CommonsEdit

Speak with the patrons until someone can tell you about Ruth. She has gone to Ops looking for someone called Teron.

You receive 270 xp.

Speak with Teron in Nexus OpsEdit

Teron Aminus is working at a big console. Yes, Ruth was here not so long ago. She didn't look so good, and was acting strangely. She asked for her nephew, talked about the shuttles, and ran off in the middle of a sentence. It seems Ruth's disease has entered stage 2 for which paranoia is a symptom.

Dr. Carlyle calls on the Comm. Ruth has attacked a dockworker and stolen a shuttle. The risk for a pandemic has increased because she now is out there somewhere.

Investigate the docking bayEdit

The dockworker Samuel Francoeur is sitting on a bench recovering from the attack. He managed to damage the hull of the shuttle during the theft. Luckily the shuttle will leave a radiation trail that can be followed.

You receive 270 xp.

Investigate the stolen shuttle's trailEdit

The trail leads to four star systems. Scanning the trail gives 50 Milky Way research data for each of them.

The scanning reveals that the hull's integrity is getting increasingly worse. In the fourth system shuttle destruction is imminent. The trail indicates that the shuttle is heading for landing on Kadara.

Find the shuttle on KadaraEdit

Go to the navpoint. The shuttle crashed and has been abandoned.

Investigate the crash siteEdit

The flight recorder is on the ground. Ruth is aware that she is in stage 3 of the disease, and is going to self-destruct the shuttle. Before she was able to detonate, someone came and kidnapped her. Now there is a high risk the disease will spread.

Track Ruth BekkerEdit

Using the scanner you detect angaran footprints lead away from the crash site. Follow them to a nearby building.

Investigate the buildingEdit

The people there are Roekaar raiders. The fight is inevitable.

Defeat the RoekaarEdit

A few raiders and sharpshooters will be on site, after you defeat them a drop ship will bring in more, defeat them.

Unlock the doorEdit

The door on the top floor is locked. Use the console on the bottom floor to unlock it.

On the data pad next to the console you can learn about the Roekaar's hideous plans.

In the same room there is a stasis pod picked apart. Scanning it indicates it can be reassembled to working order. Ryder suggests it can be used to bring Ruth Bekker back to the Nexus.

Scanning the Medical Database Terminal gives some hopeful news. The angarans are immune to this disease. Ryder decides Harry has to be informed about this - maybe it will be possible to create a cure.

Confront the Roekaar leaderEdit

Upstairs the door is now unlocked. The leader holds Ruth hostage. Now you have to deal with the situation. Refuse to let him go, which will get Ruth and him killed, while you are certain the virus sample is secured. Alternatively let him go with a sample of the virus, which will save Ruth (SAM concludes that the sample is degraded beyond use).

The mission then ends according to your choice.

There is no indication that Harry Carlyle has been informed about the angaran immunity. There is no reaction from Captain Dunn on the successful solution of the problem.
