Citadel: I Remember Me

From Mass Effect Wiki

A young woman, traumatised after years as a slave to the batarians, is threatening to kill herself and Commander Shepard is the only one who can talk her down.

[edit] Acquisition

This assignment is only available if Commander Shepard has the Colonist background. After returning to the Citadel and leaving the elevator from the docking bay, Shepard gets a call from a Lieutenant Girard, explaining the situation.

[edit] Walkthrough

Talitha

Lieutenant Girard asks for help with a girl who is up on the docking bay. She is a survivor of Mindoir who was taken by the batarians but escaped her captivity. This girl is severely traumatized and waving a weapon. Girard is very concerned about her, and is afraid she'll hurt herself. Knowing the commander's background, he asks Shepard to help - if Shepard can get the girl to take a sedative, Girard can take her to a psych facility where she can get better. Shepard can go and talk to the girl - whose name turns out to be Talitha - building up her trust to get closer, talking about Mindoir and Shepard's own experiences.

As Shepard talks and learns more about what happened to Talitha, there is the option to take a step toward her. If Shepard approaches her too fast, Talitha will shoot herself. Eventually after taking three steps to get close enough, Shepard can convince Talitha to take the sedative or force her to. Talitha will fall unconscious and Shepard can report back to Girard.

Alternatively, you can choose to leave the conversation with Talitha. When you talk to Lieutenant Girard, you will be given the option to have his sniper take the girl out. This will grant you some Renegade points.

If you accept this assignment, then leave the Citadel before completing it, it will auto-complete and you will get none of the rewards. Instead, a message appears in your Journal that reads, "While you were gone, Lt. Girard had to handle it himself."

[edit] Trivia

If Talitha takes the sedative, she asks Shepard if she'll have bad dreams. This is a reference to Aliens where Newt, the six-year-old sole survivor of the alien attack, asks Ripley the same question.
