Now, before I start, let me say that I loved Mass Effect 3. I preferred ME2, but that's beside the point. Mass Effect 3 was a great game, but it had its flaws: An almost 180 turn to auto dialogue, a bigger focus towards action, the game felt rushed at times and that piece of dog $%#@ ending. But I've found a new flaw, one from the fans: the Reapers and the fear they brought us. Think about it, during the course of the entire series until 3, we weren't sure of what the Reapers were truly capable of, even after we fought Sovereign (who, need I remind you folks, took TWO fleets to destroy, the Citadel Fleet and the Alliance Fleet). During the course of Mass Effect 2: Arrival, I was a little nervous after what I had scene before the end credit…

Now I know those who read the title will probably kill me for saying that, but just hear me out: For those who frequently talked to Javik, he will tell you that Protheans would take other races into their empire to the point where they thought of themselves as Protheans. Well, I recently played through ME1 again and found the statues looked wildly different to Javik. It could be that Javik is not an actual Prothean, but instead one of the races subjugated by the Protheans.

For some reason I couldn't post this on Possibility of Mass Effect 4 so I made this. Might as well ask anyone willing to read. Does anyone think that after Synthesis, after making peace with the Reapers, that the galaxy will want them to keep their indoctrinating and Husk creation powers? I think one or two of the terms of that truce would be no.--Mike Gilbert 22:25, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

Hey there kiddos! I said I'd be back when I had a video to whore, and today is that day.
I'm pleased to announce that production has started on the sequel to [the hit audio drama, Mass Effect 3: Generations. We've only just begun, but Mass Effect: Legacy will be given a similar treatment!
You can check out the trailer here!
Maybe I'll stick around for a little while. You never know how things could go around here!

I was playing Illos a few hours ago when all of the sudden it hit me, how exactly did Saren survive going through the Conduit? He clearly wasn't in a vehicle when Shepard and Co. dropped down, and there certainly isn't some crashed vehicle or Dropship near the Citadel Relay when you look around.
So did he just walk into it? Forget if you can even survive going through a Mass Replay unprotected, but the sheer amount of force you come out of on the other side would certainly be enough to kill him.

I have just been thinking recently about the blogosphere on this wiki and how the versus blogs here haven't been the most successful, either ending up ignored, or leading to protracted discussions with little progression, often becoming full-blown flamewars. This blog, however, focuses on something we're generally less invested in: the adversaries we dispatch along our way without much thought, unless the efforts of either the writers or AI coders guarantee otherwise. Because listing all enemies from the franchise or from a single game would be far too much work, here are the three selected entries for this blog, accompanied by polls and supporting images.
So, these are the today's polls. I hope they made a nice change from the usual blogs …

Having recently purchased the Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, I've been reacquainting myself with the Fallout franchise's history. For the unaware, Fallout began as a third-person turn-based isometric RPG game for PC, and its first sequel and spin-offs generally adhered to that specific style and genre. When Bethesda revived the franchise with the successful launch of Fallout 3, that game significantly diverged from the old games by taking on a first-person perspective and altering combat to focus on real-time shooting. Many of the diehard Fallout fans were tremendously upset by this change. To them, Fallout 3 wasn't truly a Fallout game.
Now, the development of the next Mass Effect game has shifted from BioWare Edmonton to BioWare Mon…

Hi guys, i am new ME player, just starting the game and i am searching for a little advice that help me to develop better the in game Story/walkthrough, learning what is the best order to begin whit the main mission, when is the right time to take the side assignments, and when is a good time to go after the squad members quests, 'cos i think i start it in the wrong way. As an example. i reach the planet where the Wrex's family mission is set and just after Shepard became an Spectre, acquired the mission scanning the system where Pinnacle Station is hide, 'cos i wanted to try the combat train and learn a little more 'bout squad battle mechanics, tactics, weapons and powers, before to play the main missions, but i read that, in the case of…

The Cerberus Ajax Armor is one I recommend to any class. I use it for turning any build into a combat capable soldier. I usually stick with Adept for my love of the Throw biotic. But, Adepts have a certain weakness when in full combat situations. This may be contested, but I focus this on the Mass Effect 3: Omega DLC. The mechs in this DLC tend to be tricky as an Adept because of their armor.

It was March 6, 2012 (or earlier for the Weather Balloon Editions) when millions of players across all platforms began playing Mass Effect 3, which about 80% of them would start voicing out their utter disappointment on text and video blogs, as well as all sorts of conspiracies, including the infamous Indoctrination Theory, have found home to a motley crew of frustrated fans across the globe after a few days.
While that is a story of another time, I've taken to write about another game mode which more players may have invested hundreds of hours than the core game itself; namely the Multiplayer Mode. Since its Resurgence DLC, millions have battled through the maps, challenges, enemies, and hazards, as the N7 volunteers found ways on how to util…

...or "How Come the Suicide Mission Is So Awesome?"
Mass Effect 2 is the most universally adored part of the original Mass Effect trilogy, and despite its improved gameplay refinement and variety, Mass Effect 3 could never supplant its predecessor--because part two had something the sequel didn't: a mind-blowingly epic ending that left every player in awe. But what exactly made the ending of Mass Effect 2 so amazing? Although the magnificent cutscene direction and musical composition contribute a lot to the ending, the key to the awesomeness of Mass Effect 2 endgame segment lies in the gameplay design and the story scripting of the entire Suicide Mission.

On Mass Effect 1,2 and 3 there has been a slight issue that people have mentioned about the helmet, the way it just disappears and it caused some anger from a such a slight issue, but I had the idea that maybe the helmets on Mass Effect 4 should form like the Iron Man helmet. Like the way it folds out of the back of the neck. Any thoughts on this idea? :D

Being a Mass Effect fan isn't always easy. It's been a turbulent trilogy for longtime fans and newcomers alike. From the good to the bad, there's a lot to cover. In addition to covering my opinion each individual game, I'll be talking about the overarching themes and of course... the ending. -
While surfing "teh youtubes" the other day I was pleased to come across a video by the always eloquent and verbose MrBtongue. For those of you not aware of him, he's the guy behind the always entertaining "Tasteful, Understated Nerdrage" videos which covers a number of subjects including video games, literature, sci-fi, fantasy, and even quite a few on Mass Effect (or particular aspects of it shared by other related topics). Anyway, his most recent video aptly titled "Choice and Consequence" deals with they various types there-of within video games. While not specifically about Mass Effect per se, he uses it as one of his major examples and a lot of the concepts apply to it. I really enjoyed the points he brought up, to the point it ad…

An April 10 post post on the Bioware Blog announces a survey on Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer Maps. The survey will be open for one week from April 10. I took the survey last night. It's kind of long and boring. For each map, it asks you if you play the map, how satisfied you are with the layout, how satisfied your are with the visuals, how difficult you find the map, and lets you comment on each map. It treats the hazard versions at separate maps. I generally had no strong opinions on each map. I did comment that I thought Jade is the hardest firebase bar none, that the city in the background on the Hazard version of Ghost reminds me of Batman: Arkham City, that the reactor on the hazard version of Reactor should cooldown automatical…

So I came across this sad news last night and I thought I'd share it with everyone on the wikia since no doubt a few of us are Star Wars fans. It is as it says in the title Disney has closed down LucasArts
So what's your opinion on this, cause to be honest I'm mixed. On the one hand it's sad to see those people lose their jobs and for the studio to close because of all the games they brought out. But on the other hand when was the last good game they brought out it's been a while, (Just to note I did like the first Force Unleashed). And in-fact some of their best games weren't even done by them, the likes of Kotor, Battlefront, Jedi, X-wing and Empire at War were all done by different developers.
This also brings into question the future of …

OK so I am a huge fan of Warhammer 40,000 and while looking through their latest magazine at the new Tau Empire releases I was struck by the idea to create custom miniatures of the Mass Effect races using 40K components - Kroot as a basis for turians, Tau as salarians, etc. I got this idea by noticing how similar in face and body some of the aliens in 40K look. With some kitbashing and maybbe the odd bit of custom sculpting I doubt it would be that hard to create the miniatures.
But then I thought how much better it would be to have the rules to use with them.
So I am thinking of creating a Reaper War expansion for Warhammer 40,000's current 6th edition. I know there are some 40K players here so I was wondering who would be interested in see…

Lizzunchbox from Wikia here. We've been at GDC all week, and one of the last sessions of the week was a very interesting blend of game and narrative design.
In a session entitled Emotional Journey: BioWare’s Methods to Bring Narrative into Levels, BioWare Senior Designer Dave Feltham spoke for an hour about BioWare’s process for developing story, emotion, and narrative that is integrated into gameplay.
With Mass Effect 3, BioWare hoped to find an alternative to the very common design trait of using a cut scene to advance the story, and then diving into gameplay, and then coming back out into a cut scene to keep the story going. “This worked well with Mass Effect 2,” he said.
But the company wanted to go farther. “We realized we needed to brin…

Hello again community of the Mass Effect wiki. I know you all have missed me so have decided to come back with a brand new blog, much to everyone's appreciation.
This blog is actually not entirely mine, it's an article about ME3's ending (everyone's favorite subject!) that is in a Swedish Game magazine called LEVEL. I just translated it into English. I actually did the same thing on the Halo Nation wiki with a another article that was about Halo 4. Here's the link [1]

And no, it mentions the IT but it isn't about it.
Article begins under this text.

A continuation of some ideas, features, and concepts I would like to see in the next Mass Effect game.
~The Protagonist~
The protagonist should not be Shepard 2.0, as in a legendary, impossibly heroic, somewhat high-ranking commissioned officer who can somehow completely avoid military bureaucracy to achieve his/her goals, save the galaxy multiple times along the way, and 'enkindle' multiple willing members of the opposite (or same) gender along for the ride.
That being said, I would like to see a system like that of Dragon Age: Origins, in which the protagonist's background has some influence on his/her starting point, selectable class, and story arc. For the sake of simplicity, the starting location for the protagonist, regardless of backg…

Presumably, BioWare is working on another Mass Effect game, that will either be a sequel or a prequel. I would prefer the former, and if it were as such, I would be pleased to see the game incorporate aspects of its predecessors. (N.B.: This is a bit long, so I'll break it down into multiple posts).
In this part: Armaments and Inventory
Next part: The Protagonist, Prior History, and Non-Combat Interactions
~Weapons, Armour, and Inventory~
The M-7 Lancer from the Citadel DLC, the Particle Beam rifle, and the Collector weapons prove that the 'old tech' weapons can work in a ME3-style combat setting. I would like to see the return of the inventory system from ME1 (on the PC). I know that many people disliked this, but inventory management is a…

Excuse me for making the most ridiculous and inconsequential blog ever to date, but hey, with Mass Effect 3: Citadel we got a lot of silly and inconsequential (yet absolutely enjoyable) stuff.
I was just wondering what the "w" key on your keyboard (or your left thumbstick, if applicable) looks like? With all the running (and driving) around of the Mass Effect Trilogy, mine has become eroded and the letter "w" unrecognisable. In fact the "a", "s" and "d" keys have suffered similarly — the letter "a" completely vanished – although "w" is the worst. I have no other games on my PC, so the damage is entirely the consequence of the Mass Effect games. Quite impressive if you ask me.
The buttons still work, however, so I'm not complaining. Just found …

So In Mass effect 3, if Shepard is romancing neither of them, Garrus and Tali can start a relationship. Ken and Gabby can also end up together, and Shepard can encourage EDI and Joker to develop a relationship.
The Citadel DLC expanded on this theme by having James and Ashley hook up at the Party., as well hinting at something between Samara and Zaeed.
So my question is this: Which other romances would you envision among the crew? Who would you like to see the romance options end up with if unromanced by Shepard? What about the other squadmates? Which other characters can you see going well together?
Personally I like the idea of Kaidan and Cortez getting together. A friend of mine also had a thing about seeing Zaeed with Dr Chakwas, but I th…

When you play through a game many times over the course of a year, you make observations regarding the characters, story, and lore, whether they be humourous realizations or cases of fridge logic. These are fifty thoughts I've had while playing through the series, as a sort of retrospective on one of my favourite games of all time.
(And yes, I know that ME3 came out on the sixth, but I got it on the fifteenth of last year for my birthday. So without further ado...)
- Judging from the M-7 Lancer, the move to thermal clips really was a bad idea.
- A tool of destruction named after a spirit of creation is a lot funnier to me than it probably should be.
- It's about time that BioWare realized that film grain usually looks like a really bad case of compre…

The ending to Mass Effect 3 was awful, and im sure many would agree with me. Really we only have 3 choices, even with the Extended Cut, we only get 3 choices: Destroy the Reapers, do nothing and screw everyone over, and brainwash the galaxy. Before I get into what my ending is, i'd like to go the endings Bioware gave us.
Doing nothing and letting the Reapers wipe everyone out shouldn't have been an option to begin with, if Shepard was just going to do that, why waste time running all over the galaxy? Why not just stay on Earth and die there? So really, doing nothing makes no sense, not much needs to be said here.
Brainwashing the galaxy is my way of describing Control and Synthesize or whatever that option is called. I say that because well …

In my opinion the recently released Citadel DLC was the best DLC in the entire Mass Effect Trilogy. It was as polished and as fun as Mass Effect 2's Lair of the Shadow Broker, which is often seen as the best DLC in the trilogy. "Citadel" was loads better because instead of focusing on one character, it focused on all of them, and in my opinion the characters have always been the focal point of the entire series.
The main conspiracy plotline is interesting and enjoyable. There are loads of lines that people will be repeating for years to come and plenty of in-jokes to enjoy, which helps lift the dark theme of the rest of the game. The gameplay was actually quite challenging (even with my high level shep) while also being fun. The new pistol… Read more > -
As far as downloadable content goes, I've had mixed opinions. From Ashes was great, but it shouldn't probably shouldn't have been downloadable content to begin with. Leviathan was pretty interesting, and shed some light on the Reaper lore. Omega was very standard, and ended up being the worst of them, in my opinion. Citadel on the other hand, represents both the best and worst of BioWare. It's probably my favourite add-on for Mass Effect 3, but it also comes off as extremely out-of-place, for a variety of reasons. Allow me to explain the highs and lows of Mass Effect 3's swan song, as it were.
