ME3 Biotic Sphere Biotic Sphere is a biotic power in Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode.

Create a biotic sphere that surrounds the caster and nearby allies. More damage to enemies entering the shielded area.

Enemy Weakness

Increase damage taken by enemies within the shielded area by an additional 15%.

Rank 6: Allied Protection/Warp EffectEdit

Allied Protection

Decrease the damage that shielded allies take by 10%.
Decrease the time before the shields regenerate by 10%.

  • Damage Reduction: 40% (Damage Reduction), 30% (Enemy Weakness)
  • Damage Taken Increase: 10% (Damage Reduction), 25% (Enemy Weakness)

Warp Effect

Hit enemies inside the shield with Warp, dealing 50 damage per second and reducing armor by 25%.
Affect up to 3 enemies at a time.
Set an enemy up for a biotic detonation.


Player Notes Edit

  • Unlike most biotic powers, Biotic Sphere takes effect at the caster's feet, rather than spawning or taking effect at the targeted area. This limits its offensive utility.
  • The defensive abilities of this power can be stacked on preexisting damage reduction powers such as Barrier or the krogans' Rage. While it is effective with any race or class, the best results are seen on krogan. Krogan can become walking castles when all the damage reduction effects are in play, receiving as much as 60% damage protection (70% shield protection) with powers, or 90% with powers and Blood Rage. All the bonuses can effectively make krogan nearly invulnerable so long as they stay within the Biotic Sphere.
  • Now with the Geth Juggernaut and his massive health and shields not to mention his Hex Shield and Geth Turret combined with this Sphere more than likely make him invulnerable if not the hardest character without a doubt to kill.
  • If a Biotic Sphere is created while another Biotic Sphere made by the same person is up, the previous Sphere will disappear with a shattering sound and a new Sphere will appear at the caster's feet.
  • Biotic Sphere takes a slight delay to create.
  • If the Warp Effect evolution is chosen, enemies will get inflicted with Warp once they enter the Sphere. This exposes cloaked enemies (e.g. Geth Hunter, Phantom) and sets them up for a Biotic Explosion with Reave. Close-range units such as Banshees and Brutes are rapidly brought down within the Sphere.
  • Upon creation, the Sphere does a minuscule amount of damage to enemies inside it or touching it. This damage can kill Swarmers, stagger lesser enemies, and will detonate Biotic Explosions.
  • It is not possible to create a biotic sphere when targeting an enemy (the crosshair turns red). A workaround to deploy a biotic sphere in close proximity of an enemy is to look at the floor when casting it.
  • Biotic Sphere synergizes very well with the N7 Demolisher's Supply Pylon. If Biotic Sphere is evolved to provide maximum damage protection and Supply Pylon's Max Shields evolution is chosen, the two combined give a 150% increase to the amount of damage protected allies' shields can take before breaking.
  • With the Rank 6 Warp Effect evolution taken, Biotic Sphere is one of only 5 powers that can set up and detonate biotic explosions on any enemy at any time. This makes it very useful in a biotics-heavy party.
  • This power is very useful, when you are playing multiplayer with your friends. Tell your friends, to move inside some place, where is:
  • 1) Enough cover
  • 2) Place for all teammates
  • 3) Ammunition crates are close to your "camp place"
  • Then create BIOTIC SPHERE. Sphere will have to cover all your teammates for maximum effect.
  • (This is only recommended in defensively upgraded biotic sphere)
  • Your team will get big advantage over the enemy...
  • The best "CAMP" places:
  • Firebase Reactor (little room with 2 exits) left from the extraction area (15m)
  • Firebase Rio in the end of the map, in container, directly from bridge on water, *forward 60m (approx) in this container, ther is a ammo supply, and as well as a *place for biotic sphere and four teammates.
