What Andromeda did right.

So as we all know andromeda was a massive flop. It did a lot of things wrong like animation and storytelling, but it did do some good things. I want to know what people think mass effect andromeda improved upon in the mass effect series.

Well it is the Mass Effect Universe after all. Sorta like CSI: Miami is to CSI.

Then again it cannot and shouldn't be compared to the Trilogy or previous installments, except for ME1.

the combat system of Ryder : Pro

Multiplayer style ammo powers for a whooping 3 clips.... : Con on everything but the Ghost or Sonet.

Your squadmates cannot be utilized and equipped to be useful anymore : Con

Both VA of Ryder are on par : Pro
Too few secondary VA's for too many NPC's : Con

Homurous approach and dialogs (Pro to me at least)

Ineffective (and partly ridiculous) hazardous environment effects. Con

The Nomad was pretty cool and driving around was fun and could be challenging at the beginning. The combat was better than in any other mass effect title. Improved graphics don't really count for me because of course they're gonna be better in a game that was released later

Pros and Cons can be relative but here it is anyways.

Pros:
- Incredible graphics and environments. Personally I love Kadara Port.
- In all honestly, the combat system is superior to the Original Trilogy.
- The Nomad is actually a pretty decent vehicle compared to a certain paper weight Mako.
- Crafting system. I can finally create my own weapons and add my own attributes plus coloring is always nice.

Cons:
- Bad script and story. The Kett aren't that interesting, just a generic bland villain race with poor reasons and motivations. I was also going to talk about facial animations but they were already mostly fixed.
- Addison's existence.
- Director Tann's existence.
- Uninteresting companions with boring backstories and autism syndrome save for a few exceptions.
- Creation tool and customization options still suck. Nothing has changed there. Honestly they should just get the Dragon Age Team to deal with certain aspects of the game, not just customization.
- Empty ass maps.
- Certain romance options barely had more than 20 minutes of Content. Once again they didn't improve that aspect. The Mass Effect Team clearly spent at least 3/4 of their budget on the Cora Romance Scene and on Peebee while the other romances were just kind of forgotten. This is another aspect of the franchise that I would just leave to the Dragon Age Team. They're clearly more experienced with character development and romance content.
- And finally the worst of all, side-quests without navpoints! Thank you for positively contributing for my anxiety and OCD Bioware.

This may be a controversial opinion, but I'm going to say the kett. They were an interesting and original idea for a race- aliens that can only keep their race alive by engineering their DNA into others. It's like their very genes are parasitic. The fact that they have apparently a bigger empire and different factions vying for control makes me really hope for an Andromeda 2 so we can learn more about them.

Honestly, I'm really hoping for a kett squad mate in a sequel, so we can learn about the kett in a similar way to how we got more nuance on the geth from Legion.

Simple answer is
1. Good fighting gameplay.
2. Fun fighting gameplay.
3. Great fighting gameplay.
4. Improved fighting gameplay.
5. Decent fighting gameplay.

Lol. From playing Andromeda the best thing in the game was the improved combat system. The story not good as before, The graphic (Included facial animation) is not good as the launch date gen (Even ME 3 with minimal graphic was better in terms of look not in the technical) (they used frostbite in the middle of development after using unreal), and etc. I try liking the game but what i like from the game is just when i fight an enemy hehe.

Hope bioware will improved and learnt from their past. Well at least they know their mistake now and more get used using frosbite.

To be fair, how do you want to exceed or even reach a thrilling effect like the Reapers again?

I'm sure even Hudson and Karpyshyn, the original 'creators' so to speak, would have difficulties to do so.
But who knows, maybe the Kett pick up the originally intended storyline of the Reapers? The Scourge as a pure dark energy construct is already there.
