If there is a ME5, I hope that Shepard is in it somehow. I cry at the final mission! Please come back Shepard!

Then stop listening to an ancient A.I. that's been murdering the entire galaxy over and over for a billion years and don't jump in-to a huge as laser beam. It'll let Shepard live.
Shepard's story is done. He/She has saved the Galaxy from the Galaxy. That's what the original trilogy was about. There's nothing relevant left to do in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Exactly my opinion. I don’t think I’ve come across a game/storyline like it. I’ve put a ridiculous amount of hours into Shepard and the trilogy. Always get depressed when the third one is coming to an end lol. Sad I know but I’m obsessed with the whole Shepard story.
I get that, I really do. What saddens me the most is the fact that we most likely will never see another Mass Effect game for at least 5 years. If Anthem succeeds of course and even if it doesn't I don't think it will ruin BioWare.
Anthem will be released in 2019 (Confirmed. Exact Date Unknown).
Dragon Age 4 most likely will be released about a year or two after Anthem. 2020-2021.
Mass Effect 5 should be released in 2022-2023.
These are only estimates though.
I recall the Anthem release date was announced at E3 as February 22, 2019. Whether or not it might be pushed back is unknown at this time but given EA will want something to bolster the end of their financial quarter, it's likely that's the final date.

I strongly disagree, Shepards story is about the war with the Reapers and finished with ME3, having Shepard come back would make his arc feel cheap and monetised.
What would be perfect is a game set within the galaxy that we know (not Andromeda, that fucked up the Canon so much...) and in the time period that we know. Setting it after ME3 is too challenging considering every fans individual ending and experience. Setting it before is possible, the fan base has been asking for something around the time of the First Contact War so that would be a good setting, but honestly I think this would be the best setting......
MASS EFFECT: CITADEL
An entire story set on the Citadel during the events of Shepards life. This way the played can be a C-Sec officer of any race or gender, either a paragon or renegade cop, who's story against Cerberus, or Nassana Dantius, or the gangs of Omega, or the Shadowbroker or all of the above, any number of possible enemies. The Presidium and wards can be extensively mapped out, and setting the story over the course of Shepards life would mean you see the effects of your previous decisions in previous games on the every day life of civilians across the galaxy in the Citadel: Sovereigns destruction, the saving or death of the council, the Geth attack, the Cerberus attack, the events of Citadel DLC, etc etc. Properly open world RPG cover shooter hybrid combining the best of all three games in a tried and tested setting with characters already know and can meet again, hell even Garrus could be a cop buddy who leaves C Sec to join Shepard early on. You could be one of the cops who a crazed Quarian called Tali comes to about Saren, you could bump into Liara on her quest to find Shepards body, you'll deal with Aria and her thugs and get to fight Sovereigns geth, crossing some crazed South African bounty hunter called Zaeed, or working for/against TIM's agents, and so much more all while deeply invloved in a whole new story. Trying to create an enemy on the same galactic level is NEVER going to work, so why not create one like the Shadow Broker, and take up a role as an average Joe C-Sec agent trying to make a living in the Citadel.
Honestly I don't know why Bioware didn't go for this, or think of this. Its easily the best of everything that the fanbase wants. Could easily work multiplayer into this to appease EA by modifying the arena in the Citadel DLC.
This would be no-fail instant win of a game.
There's no way I am content leaving Shep lying in that rubble.
