Discussion of TemporaryEditor78's behavior.

I would also like to point out the numerous complaints seen on his talk page.
"I'm worried that you're being too abrasive here. Doesn't Wikia encourage anyone, admin or otherwise, to treat other editors well? I'm aware we all have our moments, but I believe it's a good idea to be on our best behavior. Also, you might want to change the coding for your signature. It makes it harder to read the subsequent lines. --Nord Ronnoc (talk) 00:28, September 13, 2016 (UTC)"

"No, I didn't think the style manual was for display, but I did think it was a set of guidelines as is the case on genuine wikis. Silly me- this isn't a genuine wiki an the manual is your personal preferences enforced as soi-disant Rules. To reverse the question: What, thought the "wiki" at the top of every page was for display only? You see, a wiki is by definition communal, not autocratic. It represents the contributions and approaches of a widespread community, not the idiosyncratic pleasure of one monomaniacal control freak with supermod privileges. Real wikis have multiple admins and dispute resolution procedures and, remarkably, seldom need them because differences of opinion are usually worked outamicably in discussion - but that would involve admitting that legitimate opinions other than your own actually exist." I admire the hard work and contributions that TE has given to this site. I understand the frustrations and the silliness that many new editors bring to a wiki. I don't want him to be demoted. But I want him to be respectable and accountable. So far nothing has worked.

With the release of ME Andromeda, we will have a flood of new editors. This is also a time to choose a new direction for this wiki. Will we chose to turn away well meaning support, or chase it away. We can make it fun to edit, or we can become insular. Lets discuss how to change this.

Amen.

Thank you for adding my quote to the list. I believe creating a petition to demote Temp would be the best course. It barely didn't work the last time, but with enough evidence, it could work.

I want to, I just don't know how to with this new format.

Agreed, although I also think it would be wise to replace him with two, or three, admins with equal powers. All workable systems of governance have checks and balances.

I think the MOS really just needs to reinstate (something removed from it) the assumption of good faith. Unless we can find full time administrators, it is going to be really hard to replace him.

Yes, I overall agree. It's nice to keep high-quality standards, but at some point that just becomes red tape. And red tape is what feeds the likes of Cerberus!

For instance, to this date we don't have a nice single image of the Milky Way with all the important locations and sectors in it, because it was never officially shown on screen... And yet the value in having it, even if not absolutely certain, would be huge, and there have been numerous ones proposed in the talk page.

Of course, a lot of people are also being too abrasive towards this system. Calling people names isn't going to help. But it is an indication of how people are frustrated with it.

I just don't know how to initiate a discussion on this because the forum has been taken down. It is clear there is some consensus to this discussion to be taken further.
